This Saturday at Old Trafford kick off 6.00 pm ..
Warrington Wolves v Wigan Warriors
Looking forward to watching this grand final match ,I'm expecting Wigan to win by six points, but if Warrington play like they did against Saints they could snatch it.. Has the makings of a cracking game with some crunching tackles going in..

I'm not a rugby fan.
The fact that a team go an entire season completely dominating the league, only losing twice in the process, but then get KOd in the play offs, completely devalues the competition for me.

Yes should be a good 'un, hard to call.
Wigan's departing players and coach will want silverware but Warrington were strong in their defeat of St Helens whose wheels came off in 2 semi finals.

The weather could be a factor as well, poor forecast for Saturday which could favour the Warrington pack.. Wigans defence has been awesome at times though and should see them through to another trophy at Old Trafford.. (Hopefully) lol

It will be a pleasant change to watch players from both teams appearing at Old Trafford giving it everything they have got, not feigning injury and showing respect for the officials. It doesn't happen very often, perhaps only once every year.
It should be a good game and here's hoping that the Warriors give Shaun a winning send off.

Did you object after we beat Stockport at Wembley in the playoffs. We were sixth and 12 points behind both Plymouth and Stockport.
Play offs are used in all sorts of sports now.

Not a fair comparison. The Grand Final is the biggest prize, that all the teams set out to win. the team that actually wins the league is largely forgotten.

But in football the Champions League is the great prize and 3 countries get to enter 4 teams.
Play offs were, purportedly, introduced to keep interest going beyond the end of March for the mid-table teams but although that is a decent argument it has become a money maker and gives no justice to the teams 46 game season.
I’m not a fan but as I keep being told, they know the rules when they enter.

Not a fan of decidining champions by play off finals. Here in Australia every sport is decided via finals. Non more stupid than the football. The A-League only as 10 clubs, the “TOP” 6 qualify for the finals! This means you can finish having lost more than you win over the season, but as long as you win the last 3 games you are champions. Melbourne Victory did so last season from 4th, 21pts behind Sydney, who they beat on penalties in the play offs. On Being crowned champions, one player, Leroy George (Dutch) stated he couldn’t celebrate because it didn’t feel right being called champions when they finished 4th.

Whereas when the PL is in action there are literally thousands of people sat being bored to death with players going through the motions, trying to con the officials, feigning injury, listening to managers moaning about this that and the other etc., etc. ad nauseam ---just wait until VAR is introduced and nobody at the match will know what the hell is happenening, that will be really interesting.
Never mind Clarets4me ---nobody forces you to watch anything at all, so you just enjoy your Saturday and don't worry about anything, things will happen whether you are interested or not and nobody willl waken you ---enjoy your sleep.

It will be my third final too and I can't wait. Getting into Manchester at dinner time and will be having a good few ales.
I see both sides of the play off argument. It's odd that the league winners don't win the title, but all teams know this when they set out and plan for the play offs. So, you'll find teams resting players for the last few games of the season and ending up in 2nd or 3rd when they'd have perhaps won the league with a full strength team.
In other news, I was gutted Toronto didn't make it to the Super League!

I have to say I was surprised when I went on Wikipedia yesterday and noticed that there was a Canadian side in the 2nd division of English rugby.
Do they have any actual Canadian players or is it all English guys on a jolly?

It's the "Wires" for me. (Never liked them being referred to as Wolves) Always supported them. Saw my 1st game in 1964 against Hull KR at the old Wilderspool Stadium. I've still got the programme
I would have gone but flying home that day.

Another Wire and Clarets supporter here. I love both games, but not equally. I can really enjoy an exciting close RL game , but don't feel particularly down if the wire lose. On the other hand I can watch a poor performance from the Clarets , such as that one at Cardiff and be elated if they win. One difference between the two games is that very rarely does a RL team win with a poor performance . I will be on the edge of my seat tomorrow and am really glad that this game will fill the void of a boring international break.

I'm looking forward to this game. I can see why Warriors are favourites but I've a feeling that Warrington can put on another display like they did v Saints and clinch it; I'll have a couple of quid on Wire by 1-5 points.
With no top leagues footy, it's a good weekend for rugby with the Union European competitions starting as as well - with games spread over tonight (Leinster v Wasps) + Saturday & Sunday.
I like to watch footy & RU + RL (not to mention cricket) - live as well as on TV. I'm southern based & never been to a Superleague Final but made it to most Challenge Cup Finals at Wembley in the past 7-8 years & now looking forward to seeing a few top games at Broncos next season.

I was hoping the Ealing stadium would be OK - it's not too bad a journey for me from Hants & Trailfinders play Championship RU there so it's at least a dedicated rugby pitch.

Looking forward to it. Enjoy Rugby League.
Also enjoy the holier than thou attitude of some of the fans, despite cheating creeping into the game more and more to try and gain any advantage.

Good game. Enjoyed it.
All the play acting and shouting at officials you’d expect at Uniteds ground though.

Hard fought unfashionable rugby but Warrington lacking in attack against Wigan's top defence. Class players were mainly in red shirts but a decent game.

Far too many handling errors by both teams to be called a great final but with only one score in it until very late it was certainly exciting.
