It is situated in Enfield which is now part of Hyndburn (the address actually gives Church). It so happens to be walking distance from Accy Stanley.

When these local cricket teams were formed they were usually in totally separate communities, it was later that the towns expanded to the size they became. Lowerhouse, for example, was very much a village NEAR Burnley rather than just being an outskirt like it is now.

If you thought Damien Hartley's batting made spectators sleepy Neil Ashworth made them comatose!

HBC have granted ECC the special license required and Enfield will be hosting away fans groups visiting Stanley for the rest of the season. A handy couple of hundred yards and 5 minute walk away makes it a popular stop off point for a pre match pint for home fans, now visiting supporters clubs will get the same hospitality.
Contrary to popular myth, you can’t advertise yourself as open to away football fans without the support of the local police and a special license. Any club out there thinking of doing the same, beware, you need to do your homework!

I thought they already had a licence? I had the pleasure of being in there at a kids party in the function room the day rovers got relegated at was it Brentford a couple of seasons back. Plenty of rovers fans crying into their beers.

Google Maps has it at 0.4 miles walking (700 yards), but they don't know about the short cut down the steps to the top end of the Crown Ground, which would knock a couple of hundred yards off.

dsr, it's nowhere near 700 yards mate, even sticking to normal byways. I walk it every day.

Think Google maps just do those short distances roughly.
