Rate The Ref ?
No I don't, I think he's one of the worst.

Missed two of the most blatant red cards for them and potentially one for Hendrick, although I only saw a replay from a poor angle of the latter. Wouldn't have changed the result but very poor nonetheless.

Great working the added minutes board actual refereeing useless. The ball was practically in the crowd yet this fool played on the gift second goal

The Assault by Kompany early on was dreadful. You could see clearly where he'd connected. If that isn't endangering an opponent I don't know what is

He had a poor game, (gave us nothing), but this decision isn't one to pick out.
It would be almost impossible for him to see whether it was in or out. It looks like a close call, even with freeze frame, but it would - in any case, be his assistants call.
The "red" card in minute 2 could have changed the match. You can guarantee he would have sent Tarkowski or Mee off. (First couple of minutes or not).

A) 8- seemed slow to make any decision never mind the second goal.
B) 7) Favoured City in most 50-50s.
C) 4) sorry but I have to say moss resembles a Toby jug and is probably slower and less mobile than one.
D) 6) His control and authority is similar to all referees hence players diving (and getting away with it) and swearing not to mention them trying to referee the game themselves.

A genuine question but how on Earth has he been allowed to be a referee season after season?

Won't do the ratings, but the one thing I truly thought was baffling was that he gave the second goal so quickly, without going to speak to his assistant.
It may well be that a conversation wouldn't have assisted them in getting the different elements of the decision right, but to take a bit of time to make sure they knew exactly what those elements were surely couldn't have gone amiss.
The Kompany challenge was unlucky in that it was in the quadrant without a linesman alongside (and indeed without the unofficial help of the 4th official) - I suspect Moss couldn't really see it, and he had no-one to help him.

Could easily beat all the other refs in a doughnut eating contest.
Apart from that, awful.

Do we really pay this fat lump top referees brass?
For the second goal he was totally at sea. He wasn’t even looking as the ball hit the net
A 3
B 7 consistently shite
C 2 was in the way of play quite a few times . He is full time and paid well but obviously allowed to let his fitness slip
D 6 lost all authority from the first Company clattering

These refs have to keep an eye on the after dinner circuit or a place in the sky studio they don’t want to be offending the top managers.

If memory serves a similar incedent to the Kompany one got Jeff Hendrick sent off a few years ago, down at Watford in our season back in the PL after winning the Championship, after about 6 minutes ... Jon Moss you are a %$#@£€
Yes OK today we were 2nd and sometimes 3rd best ... not brilliant but hey ho its gone forget it and move on ... its only Chelski next week should be easy

Looks like Moss is more interested in keeping his eyes on the actual dinner.
Preferably fried in lard.

Wow... what a series of decisions.
How do I pick the bones out of them and try and apply some logic to what actually happened.
Kompany - endangered the player safety with excessive force - red card. Referee however was not well placed to see the extent of the force. (Looking through the back of kompany) neither is he likely to be in any better position given the location on the field of play. Assistant would have had better view but not credible from the other half of the field.
2nd goal - ball out of play - no goal. Assistant was far side and unlikely to be able to see through the posts to be absolutely sure that all of the ball had gone out of play. However question that has been missed which he should have spotted. 2 players off the field of play therefore deemed on the goal line. Tarks I think it was came back on before the city player and the ball being played forward. Therefore offside.
Sane - Scissored him from behind - very dangerous tackle - red card. No excuses for this one.
Sadly MOD did not show the Hendrick one and hence not seen it.

My heart sank when I found out Jon Moss was refereeing this match. If he ref's another of our matches it will be a match too soon. Absolutely appalling performance and highlights how the so called 'big clubs' get all or most the decisions. The sooner continental referees officiate matches in the PL the better for me.

Had he sent kompany off, or disallowed their goal it would have been dissected in every paper, TV program and he knows that, so to avoid being shown how bad he is he doesn't give those decisions, who cares if burnley were hard done to, certainly not sky, or most media outlets. The same will happen to Huddersfield, Cardiff, Brighton etc.

I agree with this. The likes of Burnley/Brighton/ Huddersfield being in the Premier League isn't good for the brand globally, especially when you have Leeds/Villa and the like currently further down the football pyramid than ourselves

Am still not over Kompany, Sane, Out of Play, Off-side and Diving GATE. Have booked a therapy session for Wednesday afternoon, on the flip side I thought City would have won no matter what Moss did or didn't see. I really do not like City.

The standard of refereeing in this Country is poor.
VAR could have cleared up several glaring mistakes on Saturday and the sooner it comes in the better.
As for Jon Moss - City are the best team money can buy !

Mike Duff had plenty to say about Moss at his testimonial meal event and the very next game he played was away to Brighton and he was red carded by...Jon Moss, coincidence or prophetic, you decide?
For what it’s worth I believe Moss is appalling but Lee Mason is easily the worst referee I have ever seen and is consistently anti Burnley. UTC

The big clubs don't want VAR, it'll take away their 'benefit of the doubt' advantage
