Nine matches in - what do you think so far?

Certainly not pretty most of the time, but I think we have enough about us to get results as and when required, Cardiff away and Bournemouth at home being the prime examples.

I think we actually played better today than we did against Wolves and with the two headers from Vokes and the chance Hendrick had at least we created something, which is more than can be said from that game.

We should have enough to stay up but it's not been pretty. Defour's return should help and it will be interesting to see whether Brady can hit the ground running as Lennon desperately needs the competition.

It was good to get today out of the way and hopefully we can give Chelsea a better game. The few performances after that will determine whether or not I'm concerned.

Kodi, needs replacing it's useless , other than that Lennon should be an impact sub and Brady will be playing when fit, we also need a barton type aggressive ball winner in the middle , oh and we need to make a decision on the drum situation .

Points not an issue - maybe a couple less than expected. Style of play is absolutely pump though.

Pretty much as expected. Shame we couldn't see of Huddersfield and the Fulham performance left a bit to be desired. None of the bottom four, plus Southampton look anything special. It probably won't be very pretty at times and we'll be looking at the bottom rather than the top but Hart has been excellent and could well prove to be the difference in tight games. Defour's back and Brady is close so expecting some improvements - can't really draw any meaningful conclusions from what happened today.

If there is no improvement 34points after 38 games and relegation.

34 points could well be enough this season I reckon.

Over the last two games Huddersfield look way better than us.

They haven’t scored at home this season. Have they played better in the last couple of games? Yes they have. But I’d be surprised if we ended below them. They are toothless. Any of our four strikers would probably get into their starting 11.

Brady and Defour will make a huge difference but the biggest thing is probably Chris Wood. We need him firing again. He just doesn't look the same player this season. He's our goal scorer and maybe he'll come back once we have more creativity in the team. I certainly hope he does!

Do you seriously think the board will spend anything significant in jan. Really?

No chance especially if we are down in dregs.

The last 2 windows are likely to go down in history as a massive missed opportunity. Top of our situation for 35 years and we blew it.

I just think we're utterly boring. Not the worst team in the league (just), not good, just boring.

We were never going to better or equal last season, and that was always going to be a problem.

Still think we need a top striker in Jan with a bit of pace, probably have to spend big - £20m region. I think with one we would have enough in the squad to stay up.

It’s not been the best performance wise, including the Euro games.
There have been a few bright spots mind.

Confident we’ve got some key players back and will start to improve.
Being 13th in the league is not to be sniffed at.

Agree. Wish the Board had the vision to see what it takes to stay in the PL. The longer we have to rely on the likes of 1 in 10's like Lennon, the less chance we have of staying up.

Yes but under this hoof ball that we continue with Vydra won't get a start.

So signing another speedy striker won't help....... Tactic change required!

That can't be correct because loads of people tell me that football these days is so much better than it was in the past and they are only talking about the PL, which was when football was invented.
I don't know what I must have been watching for the 40+ years before the PL, it must have been real crap!

This sums it up for me. I think there could well be 3 worse teams but we are duller than we've ever been under Dyche. Do we actually surprise the opposition with our tactics or subs ever ?

Until this season Dyche would talk a lot about progress and the journey the team were on.

The fact that he hasn’t referred to that as much this year is telling.

This time last year we looked to be changing our playing style and becoming more progressive. We’ve reverted to our early days in the Premier League in the past few months. We look like a struggling newly promoted side and not like a team comfortable amongst the elite.

I geel more postive today than after the Wolves game.
Mee seemed more up for it today, and long may that continue.
We seem ro defend far too narrow and then get cut open far too easily with crisp passing (Taylor in particular ).
Had Company got a red and Vokesy had buried the resulting free kick things might have bren different,

It is what it is really, I knew the season would be a slog & with certain key players being injured & others off form hasn't helped, just a case of grinding out results against the lesser teams. No major surprises so far it's going pretty much as I expected.

Going to be a difficult season as we've over achieved in the last two. The bell ends on this message board will make it worse. This time last year we lost 4-0 to city, it was an absolute mismatch last season yet less groaning than today. The gulf between the top 6 and the rest gets bigger and bigger. 33/1 for a Burnley win today.

Seen some posts about how Huddersfield have been playing well of late and Newcastle making a fist of it against City, neither of these sides have registered a win yet.

I'm playing devils advocate here a bit but if apathy sets in terms of attending games it can become a habit for fans which we don't want. I normally hate missing games ( except end of season dead rubbers) but I had to miss a couple this season with other comitments but it hasn't bothered me as much because I know the extent of the entertainment.

Bournemouth and Cardiff games aside it's been a bit pants, think we'll survive but it ain't gonna be as fun as last season and we'll probably not need a passport for any away games next summer.

Thing is this season we don't even seem solid or horrible to play against anymore. And if we aren't that then Dyche isn't bringing much else to the table.
