I suppose not. Maybe we could reduce the risk of injury and tell him to just sit down after 3.

I’m simply thinking that trying to stop an opposition scoring more goals is important.
Others are free to speculate if that is important or not.
I’m merely proposing a question.
I do thank you for the input.

He should have gone absolutely ballistic at Tarky twice in the first half but he never did.
Shocking defending from Tarky.

Re: Hart
Only player who has consistently been 7 or above this season. Is constantly exposed and is doing as well as he can in the circumatances. Genuinely think even Cech, Buffon and co at their peak would struggle for us this season never mind Pope and Heaton.
That said he wont be the last this season to let 5 in at the etihad.

so far, his exploits have kept us afloat, outstanding perfomances , game after game.
Never liked him, but i do now. if the team were better, he would be ideal, but the **** defenders are making his role impossible.

Re: Hart
It may matter to some but considering we were 3-0 down at the time with zero chance of winning it doesn't matter to me if Joe was at fault or not, I buggered off after the 4th goal anyway so can't comment on the 5th.Bordeauxclaret wrote:Soooooooooooo does it matter or not????????

Re: Hart
Hart hasn't done anything wrong but looks sick and tired of how bad our defence is. He won't have played in any team that regulary concedes over 20 shots a game.
Re: Hart
I doubt he could have done better in reality, but to answer the question with ‘does it matter’ because they were the fourth and fifth conceded is churlish.
Let’s assume he might have done better, this week they were the fourth and fifth, another week that type of shot might be the first and second in a tight game.

Re: Hart
I thought he could have done better with the fourth. Its a super strike, but it was on Hart's side and i dont think he was unsighted.
Not sure he could do much about the 5th, but one of the catalogue of errors for the 2nd wad Hart charging out towards the ball when he had no hope of getting there, thereby leaving the goal itself unguarded and making the finish much easier.

Re: Hart
It's harsh blaming Hart or our defence IMO. Our style of play constantly keeps our defence under pressure. Even the best players will make mistakes if they under constant pressure.
Hart has been outstanding for us so far.

I thought the fourth was saveable as well, but he'd be a long way down the list of players to criticise from yesterday's game.

Re: Hart
I'm not sure how far outside the width of the post it ever was - I was right behind it, and although it was nicely curled, I never thought it was setting off that wide, and whilst it was pretty well in the corner, it was only a couple of yards to Hart's side. It was certainly odd that he didn't even make an attempt.taio wrote:He had no chance or next to no chance with the fourth. It was a lovely shot by Mahrez that started outside the post and swerved into the corner.
Re: Hart
There was plenty of bend on it and with the whip and pace on the ball into the corner it gave Hart little chance. It was a excellent effort and that is the sole reason for him scoring rather anything Hart did wrong.claretspice wrote:I'm not sure how far outside the width of the post it ever was - I was right behind it, and although it was nicely curled, I never thought it was setting off that wide, and whilst it was pretty well in the corner, it was only a couple of yards to Hart's side. Re: Hart
We'll have to agree to disagree then - certainly not saying it wasn't a terrific shot, or that it was necessarily a howler from Hart, but I don't think the shot was as fierce or bent as dramatically as you're suggesting, and I certainly don't think it was one I'd expect a quality keeper to allow to pass him without at least making an attempt to save it.taio wrote:There was plenty of bend on it and with the whip and pace on the ball into the corner it gave Hart little chance. Re: Hart
Not dramatic, just said there was plenty of bend on it and hit with pace. Thought it was pretty unstoppable at time and on watching MOTD (the pundits said Hart had no chance) I haven't changed my mind. The reviews I've read suggest the same.claretspice wrote:We'll have to agree to disagree then - certainly not saying it wasn't a terrific shot, or that it was necessarily a howler from Hart, but I don't think the shot was as fierce or bent as dramatically as you're suggesting, and I certainly don't think it was one I'd expect a quality keeper to allow to pass him without at least making an attempt to save it.

Re: Hart
He's made some good saves but I would expect that from a goalkeeper with his pedigree. Despite only playing nine games I can't think where he has won us any points, the many saves he has made have been in games where generally we have been overrun so essentially he has kept the score just about respectable.jurek wrote:As far as I can see Hart has been our best player so far this season

Cardiff saw an excellent save in the first half and a pretty standard one after the interval.joey13 wrote:Cardiff, Southampton, that’s 4 points
Watched all of the Southampton game on TV where we dominated for a good hour of the game. If he kept us in it in the other half hour then fair enough but I can't recall anything out of the ordinary that he did.
All a matter of opinion, of course and healthy debate which isn't always forthcoming on here. One poster decided to tell me to f**k off last week in one of his regular argumentative rants when he was no longer capable of articulating his thought.
