I was looking at getting to Manny Airport on the cheap. I can get the X43 then the 43 from Piccadilly Gardens but does anyone know if you can take cases on these buses?

If the bus is going to the airport then it would be reasonable to assume that you can.

You should be alright if it’s just 1 or 2 cases.

You not thought about just using Max Cabs?

£30/34 from door to door and will be less hassle

Some people might say they’re hit and miss but i’ve never had a problem with them - also when you land you can call them and it puts you straight through to the driver so you can rendezvous.

Yes I have taxi contacts but this came up in conversation so I thought I'd suss it out. I've got a bus pass and could do it for nowt but it'd obviously be a lot more inconvenient.
Are Max Cabs reliable? I saw a post about them or a similar name not turning up and costing someone their holiday.

I’ve never had a problem with them and used them years - others say they have though.

It could be done - but for costing less, maybe try the bus to Chorlton and cut through the carpark and over the bridge to Piccadilly’s and get a train to the airport.

I often get the x43 to Chorlton Street. Then a 5 min walk to Piccadily Station. Trains every 8/10 mins and takes about 15/20mins.

There’s also the National Express coaches that go to the airport from across the road at Chorlton. The options are endless.

Around £5/6 I think. That’s on Transpenine. About £3 on Northern but Ive had a few cancellations so dont bother with them anymore.

Do it there and back. About £15/20 return. Whilst the public transport is ok, some prices are shockingly ridiculous. The local bus company are a joke nowadays.

Yes you can take cases on the bus. Done it many times. If we have a teatime or early evening flight we get the bus to Manchester, have lunch, then airport bus. Doddle and free with a bus pass. If we have an early flight we use Maxi cabs.

Get the train from Piccadilly station. Many go from there to that 3rd world airport.

Really, not sure if I have but then again I have a 2.7 miles walk just to get a bus stop at home which runs to Galway 7 times a day .
Trust me transport in the West of Ireland would be on the same level as Nepal .
