Phone in to try to get views across to Robbie Savage of all people who will never think us more than the lesser neighbours that should be grateful for where we are.

What tool would even think they would be able to get an unbiased view of him

For once Savage is talking 100% sense. Couldn't agree more, fans with short term memories who want the thrill of winning and attractive football the likes of which the top 6 provide.

Next season it will be Bournemouth fans demanding Eddie's head because they will revert to the mean.

X-Factor football.

I remember Robbie Savage going mental at a Stoke fan because they wanted Hughes sacked due to a poor start to a season stating he’d given them three 9th positions. Look how that ended up.

Savage 100% correct.

Swansea, WBA, Stoke City all paid the price.

I have rarely been more in agreement with Robbie Savage which pains me to say. I have been thinking today about the abuse that Owen Coyle got when he left us for Bolton where is the loyalty etc we all said. Well what hypocrites are we? When we have fans on there and here calling for the Managers head after the last 6 years he has given us I find it shameful and I am embarrassed that we have such entitled fans. All I will say other than that is be careful what you wish for because it just might happen, where is the loyalty in Gootball gone????

Maybe so but its a results business. Can anybody hand on heart say that since January Dyche has been worth his £75k a week salary. Dont talk about loyalty, if he had had an offer last year or Everton would have been willing to wait until the end of the season for him, like they ended up doing with Silva then he would of gone. Likewise if Leicester had made an approach or as unlikely as it be Arsenal he would have been off like a shot.

Clevelys we all have opinions and you may be right about his worth over the last 6 months but we need to take a lot of things into account are our results purely down to what we do? I don’t think so there are 2 teams and sometimes you come up against teams that are better than you. Anyway was his performance for the 4/5 years before that worth more than what we were paying him at the time?

Just the way Robbie Savage said Burnley,it's BURNLEY,it's like we don't deserve to be in the Premier league in his opinion. We are where we are because we deserve to be.

Dyche was that loyal to us he was only willing to sign a long term contract once it became clear no other club wanted him. We have set Dyche and his family up for life, let's not talk as though he's been doing charity work eh?

I'm with Robbie on this one, 17th in Premier League is a great achievement, if that is the lowest position we finish for the next 18 seasons until Sean Dyche is 65.

Embarrassed ? Get a bloody grip. I just don’t see the need to be embarrassed by joe punter getting stuck into multi millionaires when they are performing shite. And Sean Dyche is no exception. And like he gives a **** anyway.

Jr it is all about opinions you are entitled to yours i’m Not sure that how much he’s being paid comes in to it for me. We are struggling at the moment results aren’t great performances aren’t particularly great i get that but over the 6 year period I think it has been more good than bad. But hey I understand the way Football works I just thought we as fans and as a Club were different to the rest I guess we aren’t.

What a ridiculous statement. So you would be happy winning a max of 1 in 4 games a season? We would obviously never progress if we finish same every year. Why would you be happy to never want to better ourselves? Guessing you dont go on to watch us if you are happy with watching us lose more than we win

It’s a results business and we are not getting them.

How long do we have to put up with the shite that’s surved up? Until all that attended the 6-0 v Hereford are dead?

Hi Cleveleys, where did I use the word "happy?" where did I say "I would be happy?"

My words were: "17th in Premier League is a great achievement, if that is the lowest position we finish for the next 18 seasons until Sean Dyche is 65."

For Burnley to be in Premier League is a great achievement. Forget the past when money wasn't that important, today a lot of money is needed to buy top players. For Burnley to compete in the Premier League is a great achievement.

I also said "the lowest position" - I didn't say I want us to finish 17th, but so long as we achieve at least 17th we will be in the Premier League again the following season.

It was reported elsewhere that Sean Dyche doesn't plan to be managing a football club when he is 65. I believe that Sean Dyche is the best manager for Burnley - we wouldn't be in the Premier League if we didn't have Sean Dyche - so, I want Sean to continue managing Burnley and Burnley to continue to be in the Premier League for, at least, the next 18 seasons.

Yes, I'll be happy if we can stay in the Premier League (who would rather we were relegated?) - and, I'll enjoy it when we finish higher than 17th - and even more when we can finish "top 10."

Yes, I was there today - and I enjoyed last season at the London Stadium more than I enjoyed the result today. :(

I agree with Savage, too. But what interests me is the way he spits out the word "Burnley". It's like somebody is forcing him to repeat the most vilest word in the world. I know that East Lancastrian accents are harsher than what I'm used to, but maybe somebody can send him a bar of soap so that he can wash his mouth out.

What Savage was saying wasn't that Dyche should be sacked, but that some Burnley fans have unreasonable expectations, coming off the results of last year. After Brady and Tarkowski got hurt, we weren't the same team. You can't blame that on Dyche.

I think people are missing the point. Burnley came 7th last season because we deserved to. We showed what we are capable of. Admittedly, some teams dropped points when they shouldn’t, and “let us” get 7th. But that’s not important. Maybe we overachieved last year. I think we did. But finishing 7th-12th would have been fair. So to drop 5 places below the bottom limit, and call that acceptable is very negative. I don’t expect us to finish 7th again. I don’t expect us to finish 10th. But to accept 17th, and playing rubbish, negative, tactic-less, disorganised, surrendering football is crazy. Right now, I’d take 17th. We are that bad. But that’s not an aim. That’s a consolidation. It should be our ambition to improve, year on year. This calendar year, we are worse in EVERY department. Why is it wrong for people to question this? Finishing 17th every year isn’t success. That’s negative. And boring. And if you are standing still, and bored, you might as well be going backwards.

Have you forgotten that a selection of posters on here where trying to blame Dyche when we had a spate of knee injuries?

I for one agree with Robbie Savage finishing 17th and above is a massive achievement for Burnley. We have to be realistic in our situation and try and build each season. We can't go out and buy the David Silva's, Kevin DeBruyne's of this world so we have to work with what we have and try and improve the players and the squad as we move forward. Which isn't easy, success is relative and survival in the Premier for a club of our size is success. If we can do this we may get another crack at Euro football in the future but last season was a massive over achievement and has given some false hopes and aspirations for our fans.
