He's back to his best
I don't think that you can look beyond him for man of the match today.

Yes excellent. Whole back four. Lowton saved one on line. Taylor blocks, Long last ditch too.
Well done all.

Yes they all played well and we looked like we did last season as a back four.
The only criticism is that Taylor needs to get out quicker to try and block crosses.

He got in the way of some.

He did. There were two occasions in the first half though where he should be doing more to try and block the cross.
Not that I'm going to get my knickers in a twist about it.
I love seeing him going the other way though. A genuine wing back.

Matt Lowton MOM by a country mile. But whole back 4 good. Kevin Long, for all the abuse he gets on here.....VERY solid center half.

Taylor is becoming the player we hoped he would. Only worry I have about him now is pace off the mark. Essential for a FB but he takes 5yds to get up to speed, when he does he’s pacy.

You've made that bit up.

As I've seen no mention of Tom Heaton so I'm presuming that Joe Hart was in goal?
In which case shouldn't he be named MOM and given all the plaudits for our defenders playing well? It seems only fair given that he was overwhelmingly blamed when they played badly.

Long gets abuse? He never plays. But I would play him over Tarks right now.

Ben mee and kevin long very strong defensive brilliantly supported by taylor and lowton. Looked a lot better as a goal threat when brady, barnes and hendrick came on. Only negative from me was lennon's non-contribution yet again.

Don't be too hard on Lennon or JBG, because it's difficult being a winger when you're not getting any service from the midfield.

We looked far more like the Burnley of last season and to defend as many corners we did against a very tricky side was a good marker . Taylor when he gets down tyevwing can be excellent but for me he always seems a touch slow to get over to his left when a winger is bearing down.
I think if Defour hadn’t got a knock we might have nicked it , though big Sam Vokes looks awful atm
