Time to think about getting stocked up for Chrimbo. I picked up a 10-pack of Crafty Dan's 13 Guns (cans) yesterday for £11 in Morrison's.
Any other good deals kicking about?

Yes, unwise to drink most things out of a can if you value taste as a reason to drink ..(alcohol in this case).

Over priced by about 4 quid. Why would anyone choose to drink Fosters?

What a load of rubbish.
I like real or craft (shudder, hate that word) ale, but it doesn't taste the same in bottles and I really don't like lager. Drinking cans of craft ales (Vocation, Beavertown et al) is the closest thing to getting a decent beer outside of the pub in my opinion.

Born and bred Nelsoner here, I just choose to reside in the South East but I am most definitely not a southerner! I just cannot understand why anyone would choose to drink Fosters. I would turn my nose up at it if it was FOC. File alongside Carling and Greene King IPA. Rank bad stuff, each one.

Nowt so wrong with Greene King IPA - good value and an ideal transition beer for lager drinkers looking for something with a bit of taste before moving on to become fully paid up Camra members

So because you hold a different opinion to someone else's experiences you class that other person's opinion as "What a load of rubbish".
The word ignorance springs to mind if you think and post like that.

Most of the ales that I drink are bottled but there are certainly some decent canned options and plenty of variety to try.
I usually buy a few of my regular and a couple of try outs. Had some bloody mingers but a few have been well worth the test.

Cans are better for the beer as they protect it from the sun. Particularly important for bottle/can conditioned beers.

Funny that, the word ignorance also springs to mind when reading your post.
I mean, I was only responding to rubbish a generalisation that all cans of alcohol aren’t up to scratch. Seems someone else has also posted to dispel that nonsense generalisation as well.
And just to confirm, I think that was a load of rubbish because it is - speak to anyone with any knowledge of beer or brewing and they’ll confirm that not all cans are ****, and most modern beers (and I don’t mean lager-****) benefit from being canned.
