Huddersfield & Palace - do you need a striker to survive?

Post by Spijed » Wed Nov 28, 2018 1:12 pm

Remarkable that neither club has scored any goals via their strikers (least I think not), yet both outside the relegation zone.

It certainly shows we need more goals from midfield.

Was it that different for these clubs last season ? Benteke has scored a couple of goals in 18 months hasn’t he ?
Yes it would be great if we scored more goals from our midfield but if our strikers are scoring most of our goals what does it matter.

At the end of the day there are a number of teams who are struggling to score in this league and we are clearly one of them. Not just down to quality of strikers though - it’s the way the teams set up and their approach to not conceding.
Fulham have scored quite a few goals but conceded more than anyone.

Incidentally Joe Hart has conceded more goals this season than any other keeper in the Premier League

Huddersfields strikers are hopeless anyway.

That's probably more puzzling than anything. Last season we provided a masterclass in how to defend, even teams like Arsenal were not at our level even with technically better defenders. Yet for some reason this year it's a completely different story.

There are comments on here all time about how poor our strikers are, how we need to spend lots of money etc.

Yet when I've used Benteke as an example it results in aggro for me

I feel hard done by that you're not getting the same aggro...

Would anyone swap any of our strikers for Benteke at the moment?

Yeah because he's expensive, costs a lot in wages and they'll completely forget that his got a naff scoring record for the last few years.
