On my way to Wembley. Madge is confident of 3 Claret points and Naughty Madge is ironing her knickers, in readiness.
Let's get behind the lads and show the world that Burnley are back
Come on you Clarets

England got drubbed at the hockey this morning 0-6 to Belgium.
Hendrickx got two. Maybe that’s an omen it is Hendrick with a kiss.
I hope I can get a link as good as some of last weeks recommendations.

Not sure if Tarks is playing the anchorman role, with freedom to move into midfield, or whether it's 3 in the central defence role.

5-4-1. Christ.
Didn’t think Dyche would ever do that. Never been done before though so I’m willing to keep an open mind

Quite a few on here keep putting 3 central defenders in their lineup, but I hope Tarks is allowed to move a bit further forward when we have possession.

My concern is the wing backs. In such a system they’re the difference between a balanced 3 ATB and an immobile 5. Can they cover the ground needed?
We shall see.

The players on our bench would walk into many Championship teams. That's got to be a positive!

Taylor left wing back, yes, but be interesting to see how Bardsley does - unless him and Lennon perhaps overlap.

Bardsley has been our best player in both our last two games, lets see how he gets on before we start doubting him FF!

I'll say it quietly, we play in the premier league...
Why is it a positive having bench that would walk into many championship teams?

Not sure how it can be 3 centre halves while playing Bardsley, Taylor, Lennon and Brady but we shall see.

It’s not three at the back though is it? It’s five at the back, four just in front and Barnes running around falling over and stuff.

It could be
541, 4141, or 3511
Let's see how it pans out first, but we certainly have players that can preform in this various formations.
As id like a back 3 of Tarky Gibson Mee at some point or a front 3 of
JBG Wood/Barnes Brady

Don't think dyche as even seen this system work himself he's been ill all week i believe and will have been kept informed
I believe it's touch and go whether he's in the technical area today but have it he be fine

So rather than the usual 3 days he is on the training ground, this week it's been none?
My Gawthorpe source is no longer there so can't get all the line ups, news or gossip when it happens now, got to wait for Martin Oneil, or 3 days later for the press to release it, then the club, then CT too, and say he knew a week before but had to wait

Did not expect THAT!!!!!! At least shows some theoretical variation and will bewilder Tottingham. Taylor will hopefully get some joy.

It must be a conventional back four with Tarks in the Sweeper role IMHO. Spuds are very strong in the middle of the park and I feel that SD wants to break that up by allowing Tarks to compete in that area where we lack height. Nice to see him thinking outside the box.
Talking outside the box I was concerned that Madge was ironing her knickers

Sweeper? Ahead of the back 4 would make more sense, so that would be the anchor role. He's decent on the ball to carry it into midfield.

delighted to see the 3, surprised it's Long instead if Gibson though (not a dig at Long, just surprised because of the fee we paid for Gibson)

It is a strange line up. Normally three at the back is to get an extra midfielder on. Those who are suggesting Tarks playing in front of Long/Mee might be on to something.

Long has played very well for us this season. I don't think the fee paid for somebody should necessarily mean they replace somebody who has been inform.
