I'll start us off.I once worked with a bloke whose favourite tipple was Rum & Peppermint -- and that was all year round. My son in law also thinks Whisky and Coke is the way to go! (just wrong!) and I got ****** one Christmas on Gold Label Barley Wine -- about a dozen botttles of it. That was morw than 40 years ago and I have never touched a drop of the stuff since (can you even buy it nowadays?) What's on you gut-churners list?????

I remember my brother being given a drink called a sheep's brain in the pub one Christmas. Can't remember what went in it but it looked disgusting. And he saw it again later on.

I bought Shane McGowan a drink in Filthy McNasty's in Islington in the 90's and his drink of choice was Cinzano and Cider, top bloke he was. Shameless name drop but worth a mention.

Rum and Pep was a traditional stomach settler before Jaegermeister was known about or for people without access to Benedictine

At the works club at Loveclough they had a poster on the wall with Guiness and 72 different mixers. Several regulars had initialled their way around the poster.

One of my fav shots for parties etc is named the “cake”.

Invented it working behind a bar and it is half a Malibu/half a disarano/amaretto And a tiny drop of blue caracao in the top.

Tastes just like a Bakewell tart - definitely reccomend it to anyone stuck for something different when entertaining guests.
