BTW i don't agree with all this "we don't get in the penalty area enough" stuff. We had a strong claim waved away last weekend and the teams round us have all had penalties. They can't be spending significantly more time in the opponent area than us.

Fingers crossed. To be honest im not that bothered as long as we win.

Pundits usually side with the big boys so they don't offend them, bit like many of the officials and their one side decisions! Ignore what pundits say

Looking at penalty stats is interesting.

The 2017/18 season had the lowest number of penalties (80) since 2005/06 (73) split 51 home and 29 away. Crystal Palace got 10!

Seven teams got 3 penalties which includes Man Utd, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool. Three teams only got 1.

29 away penalties is the lowest by some distance for 8 seasons.

Either teams are not committing to tackles or refs are looking to not give as many.

Statistically we are not a long way behind the other teams.

Maybe penalties are like buses. Once we get one, another will follow.

Not if a referee has anything to do with it..

But penalties are only given in the penalty area.
