Is it asking to much expecting to be entertained ?

I am heartily sick and tired coming off the Turf and occasional away game feeling cheated by being bored rigid by the tactics. It's just about ok if we grind out a positive result but now that's stopped its dreadful. I feel as though I am living through pages 25-50 how to be solid section of a UEFA coaching manual. I think it will have real knock on effect on season ticket sales.

You won't see this amount of goals at many other places

Everton had to resort to playing football against us today to beat us. There was only one team out there even trying to play rugby today. Everton ruined the spectacle today.

Oh hang on.

We don't have the quality of player other teams have so we have to use different tactics which may not be fun. Especially when in the same league you can see other teams with owners 100 times richer having a lot of fun.

Ever wonder why the taliban didn't agree meet the US army on a field outside Kabul to settle the matter once & for all?

That's as good a post as any, Combat.

Tactics which may not be fun... The Taliban. You don't say.

It's a legitimate argument, though. You're objectively weaker than your opponent in every conceivable way so you find a way of surviving, and that often means attrition. If you aren't depressingly realistic about your limitations you find yourself fighting a futile, if vainglorious fight beyond your capabilities and ultimately end up being utterly trounced. BFS is applauded for his approach to football and folk label him a pragmatist yet he has never proven his approach with a side as relatively underfunded and under-resourced as Burnley is to anyone else in the league today, and as such I think this notion of BFS=SURVIVAL is little more than a lazy meme.

I don't think having a player or two who can excite and get you off your seat is too much to ask no. Defour could have been that man but Dyche has managed to convert him into another hard working, sideways midfielder.

Haha! Nope. Defour's legs have converted him into a masseuse's day-to-day routine.

The problem we have is tha5 we became successful at being obdurate, resilient and energetic. Once opponents countered these traits we have been found lacking.

It's the old story isn't it? - Entertainment v. Results. Fans are quite happy to watch when the tactics are dull but we get the right result (it's been the case here, in the main, for some time) but once the results aren't going our way, it's only natural that some fans become anxious (like now)
It's a tough one; I'm in the Entertainment camp and I would say most fans would prefer to be, given the choice.

we over achieved for a season and where we are now is where we deserve to be. But this last few years have been highly successful and we need to take the rough with the smooth like the proper supporters we are.

So who would rather finish second playing fantastic football than win the PL playing hoofball?

The history books never mention the style of football.

I am entertained when my team give 100% the shirt dripping with effort. I have left games at full time after yet another defeat thinking, bloody hell we gave that a right go. This season other than when Bardsley entered the games have I truly thought we are giving this a right go. Entertainment doesn’t necessarily mean winning.
