Are you watching Garlick ?

Surely you can see the same garbage as we are seeing ?
What are you going to do about it, isn't there 3 options ?
1 Let SD carry on as he is ?
2 Give him the cash to improve a team that should have been improved in the summer ?
3 Get a new manager with new ideas ?
It would be great if the big powerful one would speak to the fans.
Yes I know I've had too much to drink but come on this can't carry on as it is.
Ps yes I'm old enough to remember the the bad old days.
Come on Mr Garlick, show your hand

Even if he does make cash available now we will struggle to spend it. The opportunity was last summer and we blew it. What we’re seeing now is largely a consequence of that.

Just to mention paid a kings ransom to entertain two non Burnley supporting family members today in the hamburg suite to be met by a 50℅ everton attendance with colours .
Jumping up and outwardly singing everton songs what a total embarrasment. Guys sort this out you are selling your souls to allow away supporters take this pi$$.

I think the ‘spending money’ ship has sailed.
We are in deep trouble, and it would almost be an unsustainable gamble for us to try and spend to stay up now (if we were to be relegated). I realise that sounds defeatist, but the clubs failure to strengthen in the summer, coupled with an at least 75/25 chance of relegation at this point, make serious spending a gamble they won’t sanction.
I would imagine a loan or two is your lot, and arguably, it possibly should be due to our position and the current question marks over the manager.

This happens too often in the "corporate" areas
I guess the Club couldn't care less, just as long as the money rolls in.
Looking more and more likely there'll be less of it next season now though.

I suspect the answers are:
1 Yes he's done such a good job in the past and we don't deserve to be where we are and it will cost too much to pay him off. Companies should put up with consistent poor performance and think about the past and sentiment.
2. This should placate the fans. We didn't spend much on Wood, Vydra and Juke. It's not like it will be wasted and should be enough to change the whole apathy of the team the tactics and the entertainment on offer.
3. Too forward thinking and pro active. Let's wait until it's too late.

I think Jedi is right. We would need to spend close on £100 million to improve the team. And with no guarantee that we would still survive I do not think the Chairman, who will be taking a long term view of proceedings, will be comfortable in spending that amount.
So I don't expect much to happen in January and behind the scene the money men will be preparing for a period in the Championship. Hopefully not too long. As Mr Garlick said, we are a yo yo team.

Garlick sunk it a good few years ago. About the same time he became the majority shareholder.

That's exactly it Scouseclaret, we missed our chance big time in the summer. We finish 7th and qualify for Europe yet don't make any signings to improve and move on !!
Either Garlick or SD to blame for that.
It's been said for years......stand still in the Premier League and you will go backwards.

I was wondering earlier where Mike Garlick was of late, since our early demise in the EUFA competition and perceived poor transfer window he has become ghostlike, in fact, absent.
He had a lot to say to fans and the media when we were doing well but is firmly in the shadows now.

The club is a championship club in all but name, have a proper look around, the club website is shockingly poor, the food stalls under the stand are poor quality with a very limited amount of options, the lack of progress on the disabled areas is embarrassing, The chairman thinks building two stone pillars on the front of the Bob Lord stand is progress!!!
Unfortunately we have given both joe Hart and Sean Dyche along contracts which we cannot afford to cancel, but we wouldn’t bet the ranch and buy Jay Rod and now a certain relegation awaits

even if we did go big in the Jan transfer window, the players wouldn't see the first team until March going off previous, so not sure why people are hanging their hats on January. we have our stock, we now need to get the best from them which Dyche has done before, but we haven't seen that for a long time now

We never needed to spend so much in the summer, we needed a couple of quality signings, on top of what we had done. We need the same now.
It’s OK Garlick talking about the January window being a trickier one, though it just adds further weight to the summer shambles.

Because we lack quality.
Any we have are injured most of the time.
SD has to play with what he has...
The last window should have been our best chance of getting more quality in.
Yet we haggle too low and get strung along... then failed.
Not SDs fault.......................................................................
The Hart signing still baffles me though. Tom a week off being back fit...
I'd have taken any senior keeper on our books for a few games rather than Hart.
A keeper who won't catch even punch a ball and seems stuck to the line / 6 yard box (unless he is hoofing). He is so week to his left side I can't see how SD can't see these issues - the back line know he won't come for anything... the midfield know they will be bypassed.
Add to this Heaton has not been given a chance... there has to be a reason for this?

The summer failure belongs to the Chairman.
We can sell to raise some funds. We have some dead wood.

Don't think giving Dyche the money to sign more workhorses/scrappers is going to help us in any way.

As Tony Pulis is discovering, teams need to be playing a different style of exciting attacking football with added flair to be successful now, even at Championship level.

No he isn't/wasn't.
I can confirm Garlick left, like most of the crowd, after their 4th goal.

I'd love them all to come out and say "we've ****** it up so we are ripping it up and starting again, we will change the playing style, we will bring some younger players in and Sean will carry on"...........I fear I have more chance of winning the lottery that I don't do than any of that happening though

Lets see what the new Technical Director can get us in terms of key positions and players

Money talks not a technical director,. We don't have the financial clout to get anyone good enough to make any difference at this level.
If we enter the loan market, the players won't be fit enough, if good enough, to hit the ground running.
