Nice Christmas present from BFC

Anyone else had that nice Christmas Present from BFC this morning?

My season ticket direct debit has been taken from my bank account.
Oh the timing! They really should have waited at least a few days.
You see, normally when I buy something I expect it to vaguely match what I am paying for.
Trade Descriptions Act springs to mind.

I will try and calm down.
However, I am seriously thinking of posting both season cards back to the club using 'signed for postage'
and cancelling the direct debit.

.....Shock that season ticket payment comes out of bank at the same time as every other month....

There lies one of the problems.

If you were to carry out that threat/promise they would not bat an eyelid,
as our contribution to the funding of the club's activities is but a drop in the ocean.

It would be a meaningless act I'm afraid. Sad but true.

My season ticket direct debit is taken from my account at this time every month. I know its an expensive time of the year but I was expecting it to be taken today.

Why wouldn't it be?

Yeah there should definitely have been an emergency board meeting last night to postpone the direct debit collection. JFW.

Last 2 replies:
I didn't say I wasn't expecting it to come out.
However, timings of payments into and out of my bank account tend to change during the Christmas Period.
My point is, they need to be careful as far as I am concerned.
They knew we were playing (and I use that word with caution) on Boxing Day.
They have arranged the payments to be taken on the 27th.
They know how we are playing, they also know it's an expensive time of year.

Funkydrummer has it right. One of richest clubs in the world doesn't give a s**t.
Wouldn't it be nice if they had just cancelled it for a month?
After all, it would only cost about the same as they have paid Scudamore.

My bin should be emptied today but the council have moved it to tomorrow, and they taken my direct debit for December on the same day as they do every month. Scandalous.

Thing is NL you are paying for a service, and the service has been performed so you should pay.
If they ignore your bin and do not empty it, would you still be happy to pay?

He paid for it to be emptied today but they are doing it 24 hours later so he is not getting what he paid for.
You paid to watch Burnley on Boxing Day.they played ,not 24 hours later ,so its right you psy on time.

The enclosure:
OK. I am not getting my point across.

The timing of the payment is ironic that's all.
It simply made me question why I am continuing to pay.

7 hours earlier, I had watched an absolutely shambolic performance.
I wasn't happy with the service that I have paid for.
Why continue to pay for something that I am not happy with.

Some clubs/players refund fans after a bad performance.
However, I appear to be on my own, nobody else has found it ironic.

What do you think you’re paying for?

I’ll let you in on a secret. You’re paying to watch football matches at Turf Moor. On Boxing Day ...... you watched a football match at Turf Moor, getting exactly what you paid for.

If you think you’re paying to watch Burnley win I can only assume this is your first ever season ticket.

In my head I cannot call that a football match and I admit that is my problem.
No, I pay to be entertained. Even last season I was getting some entertainment value from our defending.
I even got some entertainment from our competitiveness.
Sadly, now even that has gone.
Nope, 45 years watching the Clarets and umpteenth season ticket.

Why would anyone get a season ticket that would possibly make them struggle over the Christmas period?

You need to get your priorities right. If you can't afford a season ticket, don't get one and just pick and choose your matches!

free twix

free t shirt

free happy clapper

the ability to get to the toilets at half time in CFS.

the ability to leave the cfs without drowning

a tannoy system that works

What's going on here? This is very confusing? We should only pay if we win and get our money back if we are cr@p? If so, I'm owed a lot of money back from the 1990s.

This could be as big as the PPI scandal. I'm putting a claim in for the FA Cup loss to Wimbledon in 1975,it should never have happened.

I'm going to be rich. I can go back another thirty years and I've got all the money to come back from the 1980s.

The club has already had your money. The loan is what you are repaying to a credit company not BFC.

Not so, the credit company was dispensed with a few years ago, the direct debit is with Burnley FC.

Paying on the gate for me and my lads is more expensive after 9 games than getting STs.

Try telling 100 Anglesey kids and parents that the club are skinflints, they treated the kids to FREE coaching, a great experience doing guard of honour and all of them going on the pitch. The parents and kids had half price tickets and the guys in the ticket office took it on themselves to present them with a signed shirt from the players. I suggest Christmas came early for these kids and the club deserve a huge pat on the back for it. The whole trip still cost £3000 and these kids can't wait to return thanks to the generosity of the club.

I hadn't realised that Tony. I have paid in full for the last 2 or 3 years so my last experience was with the credit company.

Idea of a fan & season ticket is that you have it for a season & support the team through good & bad.

See post 30. 45 years watching the Clarets and umpteenth season ticket. Believe me I have watched some c**p in the past too.
Thing is, I am getting older, the journey seems to be getting longer by the week. It has become a real chore going, more of a duty
than a pleasure. I am questioning why I am still putting myself through this. It is after all the definition of insanity, same mistake
every week and I keep getting the same outcome.

What am I describing?

Side wards, side wards, back and woosh loose it. Side wards, side wards, back and woosh lose it. Side wards, side wards back and woosh
ad infinitum.

I could coach against us at the moment:
Put my best header of the ball (usually the tallest) against their front man (Barnes, Wood or Vokes) and when the woosh comes
my best header wins the ball and Burnley are goosed! It is that simple to play against us.

I could get as much entertainment watching my fairy lights go through their various cycles, at least they change every few minutes.
And its cheaper!

Pleased for the lads from Anglesey.
Pleased for the Director's almost yearly upgrade to their lounges.
Pleased for the players and managers new lounges in the Longside.
Now where did I put my life belt so I can get out of the CFS without drowning? I could also p**s in it at half time.
