Looking at our squad, it’s clear that we have the oldest on average in the premier league. We need to start freshening our squad up with younger and promising players, so here’s a few things I think we could do in the window.

BUY:
1. A Left Back (Ward is our best left back but is 33 and is recovering from injury. As much as I like him, think we need to look to improve in that area as not too keen on Charlie Taylor)

2. A Winger (Lennon out injured for the rest of the season leaves us with just 3 wingers.)

3. A central midfielder (Hendrick nothing special, cork just beginning to get back to his best, defour recovering from injury, Westwood class. Be a decent idea to get a younger central midfielder in though to freshen up)

SELL:
1. Vokes (29 years old and offers next to nothing other than headers. Take the money whilst we can?)

2. Ward (As much as I like the guy, he’s 33 and we need to replace eventually. Could say the same about Beardsley however he’s been important this season)

3. Pope/Hart (Not one of the people to put hate on Hart but it’s clear to see that heaton is now our number 1 again. Capitalise on the money we could get for Pope or sell Hart)

Hi DG, if your argument is to "freshen up with younger and promising players" I'd start by not selling Nick Pope. I'd hope that we can keep hold of both Tom Heaton and Nick Pope (itself a tough ask, because they both deserve starting places when both fully fit).

Sell Hart and get a winger and centre mid. No need for a revolution.

How long has Beardsley been playing for us?

So he could be "on the grass" by March, then?

Would rather have GKN back ... I don't think we really saw enough of him last time when he was on loan.

I really hope we're still interested in Abdoulaye Toure from Nantes. Tall, quick and physical player I think we're missing. Breaks up play really well and is a decent passer. Gets the odd goal too.

I wonder if Hudson Odoi at Chelsea could be an option on loan? Assuming Bayern don’t sign him permanently. I guess not realistic as he’s destined for much bigger Clubs than us but he needs games and won’t get many at Chelsea this year I don’t think, unless Hazard goes to Real this month.

The comments from Chelsea are that the reason he's not been playing are that he's got work to do on the defensive side of his game. On this basis, I'd be astonished if we were interested in him, and that's going to be a recurring theme with young wingers from the very top clubs.

I’d be astonished if he came to us if we were interested if i’m Honest. I don’t know anything about him other than a few YouTube videos and highlights from yesterday. Carlo Cudicini mentioned his defensive side being good yesterday which I assumed meant he was okay on that side of his game obviously from what you said it was more of a Gee up for him.

I thought Hudson-Odoi was the star of the England U17 team when everyone was banging on about Foden and Rhian Brewster, and where better to learn about the defensive side of his game than under SD?

Good old fashioned winger and I’d be made up to see him here. However, if Chelsea are looking to loan him out, I fear our history of taking youngsters from bigger clubs and not playing them will count against us.

I dont think chelski would consider loaning someone out with bids of 20 million coming in for him.
Remember their academy is set up to make a profit.
