The personality of a player

I am a big fan of cycling, a glory supporter at a time when the British Cyling medal factory was ruling the world. They took the Aussie model of testing and identifying the strongest, fastest, and most genetically disposed athletes from the cycling pool and then fitting them to a ‘group’.

It’s been well documented that we look to fit a personality to the ‘group’ in our recruitment, it’s worked okay for me so far. Yet looking at the above and In particular the work Of Dr. Steve Peters, should we be able to manage a persons output on and off the pitch and develop them emotionally and physically to perform thus opening up a wider and more lucrative pool of talent and progress the club.

I get there will always be random abnormalities in the process, they can go off and have babies!

Brian Clough used to look at the personality of players who he intended recruiting and to assess whether or not they would fit in with his requirements. Don't forget that SD was at Forest when Clough was manager and I have often wondered whether or not this is a trait which he liked and follows it himself.

I was identified as “ commander” happy with that and seems very happy with that.

The only problem with the 16 different personality types seems to be no categories for wasters.
