Shocked to read this lovely lady off BBC North West and anchor weather lady has died aged 51 after a short illness at Christies leaving a husband two young children. Awful news-seemed to be the main weather lady on NW TV for many a year. RIP Di

A big shock to read about this this morning

I never realised she was previously a children’s tv presenter fronting the Saturday morning show “8:15 from Manchester”

She seems to have gone so quickly, frightening, and very sad news indeed, such a familiar face to us in the North West. RIP.

Absolutely saddened to hear of her death. She was only 51 and always appeared in rude health whenever she presented the weather. I'll miss her.
RIP Dianne.

Very sad news...she was about the only reason I used to watch NW news programmes when I lived in the north west. She seemed to have the ability to make even the worst weather being forecasted acceptable.
RIP.

I am genuinely saddened by this horrible news.
Dianne Oxberry, by the very nature of her job, became part of the fabric of society for many, many
people, and to have her snatched away from her family and friends at such a young age is horrendous,
very very sad and so unfair.
RIP Dianne - and thankyou for your contribution to life in the North West.

So utterly sad. She was always the same radiant person on TV and by all accounts she was the same off TV to those who knew her personally. Our thoughts are with her family and her colleagues who are clearly devastated.
I didn't realise I could feel so upset by the death of a TV presenter. It just shows how they can become such a part of our lives.

Rest in peace Dianne.
Not often broadcasters show their personality, but she had bundles of it and was star of the show.

Obviously I hadn't seen much of her since moving over to West Yorkshire, but still very much remember her when living in Burnley. Blimey, I wasn't sure who she was (going off name) until I Googled her and then I thought, "No way!"
Very sad. Did her job very well and came across as a naturally very nice lady. RIP.

What an awful shock to hear this news . I'm very sad for her husband , the children and her wider family. Her lovely smile and sense of humour will be missed. When I went on a tour of the old BBC studios on Oxford Road we had a chance to have a go at "presenting" the weather under the video tutelage of Diane. It was great fun but quite nerve racking trying to remember all the aspects of the weather and when to press that little hand held button to make the graphics appear. Diane always seemed to make the weather presentation so effortless and make the forecast seem very clear - a real professional and great presenter of other programmes too.

I think the three line poem from the community poet at the end really summed everything up. Left me in tears, if anyone has a link I'd love the hear it again (I am a technology dimwit).
