Sci-fi on the cheap. They always visit a planet just like Earth only slightly different, in other words go to Tesco in Blackburn once a week rather than the Centenary Way Burnley store. Petrol money versus Netflix money, make your choice.

This is Star Trek Discovery series 2
Also planned is a Captain Picard series and a Section 31 and another aminated series
Good times to be a Trekie
On a sad note, the 4th Star Trek Film with Chris Pine & Co has been shelved
CBS do the Television series, Paramount do the movies

Believe the budget is quite high on this series made by CBS

The idea of a Section 31 series is exciting. I'm nervous about the new Picard series.
I'm not too sad about Start Trek 4 being shelved. I loved the first two in the reboot but Star Trek: Beyond was ****
What i'd really like to see is a new series that continues on from the Voyager/DS9 era in the way they continued on from the TNG era.

Are they bringing back the Gorm? He was my favourite. Every other creature in the universe spoke perfect English, except for the Gorm. He just kind of slithered. How did one Gorm speak to another Gorm?

What do you treckies think of The Orville?
Not Keith Harris's Duck, btw.
Series 2 of the Orville is out now also. Hilarious, fantastic characters and really well made. Good T.V.

Not watched it yet. Saw an adverts for it at the weekend, in between adverts for the Grand Slam of Curling.
I wasn't impressed by the adverts because the adverts weren't funny, and i assume that if Seth McFarlane is in it it's supposed to be funny, but if you say it's hilarious then i'll make the time to watch it.

If you have Kodi and the Maverick Tv addon, there is every episode of star trek in there Trekkie Heaven. I'm presently working my way through season 2 of the original series. Its strange the things that you miss. Like Joan Collins and Whoopi Goldberg being in a couple of episodes.

Season 3 will be set in the 33rd century, which should be interesting. I wonder if we'll see the Temporal Integrity Commission that was in a few of Voyager episodes. I would love to see irritated references to Janeway given how their agents were annoyed by how much trouble she caused.

I enjoyed the first two Discovery series but slightly bored by the third, to be honest.
Slightly off topic, I’m looking forward to the release of Dune, my favourite sci fi novel series, in October. I hope it’s faithful to the book.

The difference is that if you took a random passenger to Blackburn tesco with you, you wouldn't expect them to get killed off.

Just great, they've announced they're removing all star trek content from Netflix just days before the new Discovery season launches...
They're launching their own subscription platform at some point.
Good news is it will no doubt be available from the usual sites online for free

Only ever seen the original. Never bothered with all that new malarky.
(Apart from the first Chris Pine movie - thought the film and especially the casting was great).

Very disappointed so late in the day. Was really looking forward to season 4 this week.
Good job I waited on my Netflix subscription.
New Trek is not everyone's cup of tea and News on the movies has been continuously: its coming....... oh hang on its not.
But to start messing us fans around days before a season's launch, your pushing your luck CBS/Paramount
Its now Paramount - for me.
For anyone interested George Takei is on tomorrows Hardtalk (BBC News)
