Who else is going to Watford game?

When I went last year to our away game at Watford that was when I was in absolute agony walking from Watford Junction train station to the ground and doing the return walk
That was when I was most in pain as a result of having a bulging disc and a trapped nerve

5 weeks ago I had my second spinal surgery to correct it and I will have a much easier pain free walk to hopefully 3 points

Who else is going?

I'll be back there with izham and his son, who you may have read on a previous post, is a clarets mad fan from Malaysia.

We travelled up from Sussex together for the Fulham game..... We had a fantastic weekend despite the inhospitable Lancashire weather.

Drinking in MK?..oh really how very lower class. :D

Having said that we did a beer festival there about 25 years ago in a Marquee, blooming cold if I remember rightly.

Not drinking in MK.

Network rail have decided to do engineering works between MK and Watford so we need to change trains there.

They don't have pubs in MK, just roundabouts.

I know your post was in jest but before Coyle's last game we visited a very convivial inn in MK - on the canal, Red Lion I seem to recall.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to mention roundabouts

They don't really have pubs in Watford either, especially if you like a real ale. It's probably the worst "drinking" place in the PL right now.

3 of us from Welwyn Garden.
Mkmel....I have the same disc problem. What was the operation you had?
I think it’s my only alternative after years of Osteo and Physio.

I don't know the technical or proper name for it but the surgeon Professor Shad basically shaved the disc to stop it pressing against a nerve

The same disc that he shaved in August 2017

There are risks and a surgeon once told me 1 in 300 end up in a wheelchair and for a second operation like I had the risks are even greater

But I made it through to the other end :)

Edit.....In paperwork it says re do L4/5 decompression and discectomy

Going to see why all the Footballers etc seem to go to Dubai for holidays these days.

Mel, I work for London Northwestern. I'm on the 12:50 up to Manchester from MKC tomorrow but if I happen to see you before you go I can have a chat with the guard and see about putting you and the other lads in First Class for the trip down.

Info for those driving -

DIRECTIONS

From the North and East:
Exit the M1 Motorway at Junction 5. (M25 Motorway traffic should exit at junction 21a, travel south on the A405 and join M1 southbound at Junction 6 then exit at Junction 5).
At Junction 5 take the A4008 to Watford town centre. Then go onto Beechen Grove and Exchange Road. (This is the Watford Ring Road).
From Exchange Road turn left into Vicarage Road. At the end of this first section of Vicarage Road you must turn left then immediately go into the right hand lane and turn into Farraline Road.
Take the left-hand lane and turn left back into Vicarage Road.
The football ground is then on the left-hand side.

From the South and West
Exit the M25 Motorway at Junction 19. At the roundabout at the end of the slip road turn right onto the A411.
At the end of the A411 at the roundabout turn right onto the A412. (Towards Rickmansworth)
Take the 2nd Left into Cassio Road (A4178).
On reaching the small one way system by the Hornets Precinct go over into the right hand lane and turn right.
At the junction with Farraline Road turn right and move into the left-hand lane.
Turn left into Vicarage Road the football ground is then on the left-hand side.

Parking
The Town Centre is served by several multi-storey car parks situated just off the ring road.
THERE IS VERY LIMITED STREET SIDE PARKING in the vicinity of the stadium and this is Controlled “Pay and Display" /“Match-day”/ "Residents" parking permit zones that are strictly observed.

I think that’s where i’m heading.
Was it a short recovery and relatively straightforward?
Cheers

Three points, please - like last season.

Bad news for anyone wanting a pre-match beer!

Turnstiles
Turnstiles will open 90 minutes before kick-off. In order to meet our security obligations, we advise that supporters arrive no later than 45 minutes before kick-off to avoid any potential delays. All supporters will be searched prior to entry into the ground. Alcohol will only be served in the away supporters section of the stadium until 45 minutes before kick-off, as a result of the limited concourse space.

Haven't served beer at Watford for a while now. It's a bit of a nightmare if you're on a bit of a session and need that half time beer to keep yourself topped up!

I had my surgery at 5.00pm on 15th January and it took 1 and a quarter hours and 1 hour coming round
As soon as I got to my room I was able to walk although slowly within an hour
Walking virtually like normal within 2 days
It hurts the most first thing in the morning after I have laid in bed all night
200gms of Pregabalin and 2 Paracetamol first thing in morning and that's it for the day
Surgeon days ,4 months full recovery but last time and this time for me confident it will be 3 months
You need to get an MRI Scan first
Oh and remember we are all different and back problems can be different
