My dad was one of the recently deceased fans commemorated at the Fulham home game "In Memoriam" service and pre-match minute's silence.
Unfortunately his name was mis-spelled in the match programme. This annoyed me at the time and I let the club know. Darren Bentley, Media Manager, contacted me and apologised fulsomely and, whilst regrettable, I considered things closed.
Yesterday however I received a letter in the post from Darren repeating the apology and containing three specially reprinted match programmes with my dad's name spelled correctly.
We now have the memento we wanted for my dad..a lifelong Claret...and I think again how lucky I am to support a proper football club, rooted in the community and caring enough to do this after they make a mistake.
UP THE CLARETS !!!!

I’m sure other clubs do similar things but being a Claret is special and only the select thousands understand this.

Yes, attention to detail failed them initially, but they have been thorough and professional in putting it right.

Darren comes from the newspaper industry where incorrect spelling of peoples’ names is not taken lightly.
Even more so in this context. Mistakes inevitably happen though, sounds like a through and fitting reponse to remember your dad by, well done Burnley.
