I've never highly rated Taylor. I also thought he was one of the weak links in the team throughout the season.

In my opinion, he proved me wrong tonight. I thought he played incredible.

He had a very good game and is finally learning his role in the team.

Got to give credit to Dyche for keeping Ward on the bench upon his return from injury. Said at the time Taylor should be allowed the time to develop then make a decision in January or at the end of the season.

I think at this rate his position won’t be in any doubt come the end.

Right/left back are probably (apart from GK) the most specialised positions on the pitch. He's a good athlete, a tidy player, and just needed to learn his role.

Gave him my MoM over Tom! And he was superb.

Best game in a claret and blue shirt.

The blocks were goal saving and the amount of very important back post headers can't go unmentioned.
MOM for me, purely as we drew, and the last goal not going round the post. ( I'll have to see it again )

Charlie taylor looks a different player now he needs to work on his crossing a bit more and he will be a fantastic player

Allowing players time to develop is right. It's blinkered to expect someone to step up to the premier league, and hit the ground running. Having the patience, Wards injury did help, to let Charlie find his feet is so important for a club like Burnley.
We aren't in the market for off the peg Premier league players, we need to nurture promising league one, Championship players, and youngsters like McNeil coming through the system.

It is almost like a young player has got better with experience and a run in the side with a settled defence.

Maybe just maybe Dyche knows a little more than the likes of hibsclaret

I thought he was absolutely immense last night. The improvement we've seen in him this season is very similar to that we saw in James Tarkowski after he won a regular place (and how good was he too last night?).

Taylor got my man of the match vote - what a performance from him.

Yep, a great performance only slightly marred by the unnecessary yellow for time wasting at a throw in. Thought he was great in defence.

Think that was because McNeil was tiring and they seemed to be doing most of the attacking down the right. McNeil got subbed a few minutes later.

This is what is great about football, it’s all down to opinion. Some could interprete that Taylor was struggling so they had to bring Hendrick across and this is a slight on Taylor yet the next man could argue that McNeil wasn’t up to the job and needed to be swapped to the opposite side. Every person watching the same sees different things

I would say getting booked whilst wasting time with a throw-in is taking one for the team. No problem with that.

Or the ref gets annoyed with all the blatant (and poor) time wasting and ends up giving 5 mins extra rather than 2 or 3!

Said exactly the same thing today, has got progressively better with each game.

The block in the box at the end was unreal - I thought it was Mee at the time until I saw Taylor getting up.

Doesn’t half mind getting his body in the way of the ball as Mee and Tark and Bardsley do - opposition managers must hate it a little seeing our defence so committed to keeping the ball out when a lot of defences just dilly dally.

You can see the development with every game that passes. Dyche and the coaches, along with Charlie have done wonders over the last few months.

The facts are that he was not good enough in the early part of the season, particularly at Wolves as an example where people that have dug me out for previous comments on Taylor were suggesting he shouldn’t wear the shirt again...they know who they are...the ones upset from having their milk stolen....

Taylor has been fantastic during the unbeaten run.

MRG - you could always post on the player ratings rather than constantly digging people out. Also, self righteousness is something that lacks class.....

Taylor is gaining experience and getting better game by game. Making less mistakes now and much better positioning. Maybe he is sick of having Mee in his ear. Also we have allowed him to attack with McNeil when we have the ball which seems to give him confidence.

He seems to have gelled with Mcneil nicely. Seems more assured than he looked earlier in the season and getting better and better. The whole defensive unit looks outstanding at the moment.

Hard to single Taylor out from our first half of the season really. The whole team were awful.
