Roll on tomorrow ,lets get one of the greatest games in the world back on our screens 8-)

8.00pm Saints v Warriors ,with the Warriors already being punished by RFL by giving them a 2 points deduction for overspending the salary cap by £14,700 .. FFS :D ..petty feckers :o

Just heard about the 2 point deduction on radio 5. Seemingly no leeway given for
errors of judgement. Clearly not a deliberate ploy to break the rules. Apparently
they're appealing the decision - hope they are successful.

Good season ahead hopefully, especially with the changes that have been made to the rules
to speed the game up and thwart sportsmanship/spoiling tactics.

Really looking forward to this.
I love to see players falling over with just the slightest touch but it will never be anywhere near as good as watching a good game of Rugby League.

A great start to the season, Wigan will miss Wane, Tompkins and Bateman, Saints need to quickly recover from bottling 2 semi-finals at the end of last season, bring it on!

Not at all, Bordeaux, it is mainly black and white stuff that they use it on and it is at the official's request.
It works in tennis, rugby and generally in cricket because it is black and white in the majority of cases ---apart from goal line technology almost everything in football is definitely not black and white, including offside which gets different definitions every week!!

Well we’ll have to disagree with Rugby and Cricket. If the ball is down, a player offside or if a batter has made his ground are often down to another persons opinion which is why they often take a while to judge.

All help get to the correct decision though, that’s the main thing.

Anyway, looking forward to the season, some tasty games to open up with.

All are shown on the screen at the venue and they also use benefit of doubt.
It is all secretive at football grounds where those paying to attend have no idea what the hell is going on and there are two opinions at the moment in the VAR studio to complicate matters even more.

As you say, there are some tasty games to open up with and I am looking forward to the season and have ordered my tickets for the Magic Weekend, although I am disappointed they have moved from Newcastle. Mind you, I will be able to go to the World Cup Opening Ceremony in 2021!!

Not sure if they showed the replays in the World Cup or abroad?
Hopefully they’ll bring that in for the grounds who have them though.

Interesting ground choices I noticed yesterday for the 2021. Bolton get games but not Wigan?

I don’t know the percentages but for ball in play time Rugby League is streets ahead of Union and football. Great athletes with awesome power.

1st half very even, 1st 20 minutes all Saints 12 pts scored, 2nd 20 all Wigan 12 pts scored, you can't get more even than that!?

Great game. Great result :)

4 points clear of the warriors after week 1. Can't ask for more than that at this stage of the season.

Good to watch a proper game though. The players seem to have got to grips with the new scrum rules very quickly, they were timed almost down to the last second, although there were a couple of occasions when the team without possession seemed to try delaying tactics ---is the penalty then awarded against them?

It is yes.
Bloke on the mic indicated its a tactic to take it down to the last second to take a breather. Of course that depends on the score as well.

Great win for the Reds. Hope this season isn’t like the last several. Set off like a house on fire, then after 5-6 games bugger all.

Always a hard one though, con, with Leeds always blowing hot and cold in recent seasons. Should be interesting!
