WBA v Brighton

Can't be bad news for us that Brighton have an FA Cup replay tonight.

Maybe one or two of Brighton's key players could pick up niggly injuries and/or oblige us by getting sent off. The minimum is having the game go to extra time, if you don't mind.

Fine margins (and all that) for Saturday......

Very much doubt they will play their first eleven or many of those likely to start on Saturday.

Whatever, it must be, at least, a distraction and perhaps disrupt preparations for this weekend's game...something which SD doesn't have to deal with. As I say, it could make all the difference (in a positive way, for us).

Yes it's got to be good for us for the reasons already given with extra time being a bonus :)

Was surprised to see Tyrone Mears is at West Brom. Haven't heard anything about him for years! Just assumed he had packed in.

Nasty elbow by Andone on Field. No yellow so FA will be wanting to have a look at that.

I wonder if Houghton will call his own fans shameful. I have heard them singing....."Jay Rodriguez we know what you are."

Tarks got a 3 game retro ban for a little elbow into the stomach of Murray, who had previously back healed Tarky in the nuts, then dived for a pen, then was deliberately trying to cause more damage to a hand he must have had a fair idea had been broken (while facing away from the guy taking a throw in).
Brightons owner has shed loads of money, Andones vicious elbow to the head will not be looked at by the FA.

So how many of the Brighton team are likely to play on Saturday (sorry, I've only just logged in)

PS WBA score with just over 10 mins to go

Andone equalises - he shouldn't even be on the pitch.

Extra time looming ?

Suits me sir.

Where's the crowd? (I know it's on telly but even so....)

1-1 now by the way - excellent. WBA to win in extra time, please

Brighton equalise. How many times does a shot go through the keeper's legs? (Andone should perhaps have not even been on the field, maybe an earlier red card).

no, penalties - something like 45 - 44 that should make it a proper late night and the heartbreak would be useful too

Extra time. Just what we want! Few injuries and a sending off or two and all will be well!

Delighted to see this go to extra time, even if not all of Brighton's finest took part, let's hope we can take advantage on Saturday ...

Unfortunate that they'll play us just after playing WBA. The BBC were reporting that the WBA fans were taunting Bong and I've no doubt he'll get booed by the Burnley fans and Chris Hughton will misunderstand Burnley's loyalty to one of their own as racism again.

Hughton needs to get his own fans in order before pleading with the FA for help in dealing with other fans.

Well before Bong came on, the Brighton fans were singing 'Jay Rodriguez, we know what you are." That's shameful Mr Hughton.
It's hardly surprising then that Bong was booed when he finally came on.

From the BBC article:

"You are going to hear things you think are unfair and don't want to hear and that then becomes the responsibility of others.

"I heard them (the boos), it's difficult not to but I prefer to talk about the individual. We have an outstanding individual and our support goes to our players."

When asked by Brighton newspaper The Argus if he specifically heard the words in the chant, Hughton replied: "No. I could certainly hear a chant, I couldn't hear what the wording was.“

Which is it Hughton. You’ve said that you’ve heard things you don’t want to hear then in but then go on to say you couldn’t hear what it was?

I hope they get a fierce reception (within the confines of the law) on Saturday.

The chant from WBA fans (aimed at Bong) was, apparently, "there's only one smelly b****** " .
I can't see that being worthy of investigation. BHA seem to object if anybody shows anything but admiration for their glorious team/club. There was a spurious complaint of racism when they were previously at TM I seem to recall.

I really hope that all our fans on Saturday behave well and not give them any room to complain. I'm sure the authorities would love a reason to have another go at our club.
