Bit of a strange introduction from the OP but for me Mr Shapcott is a total legend. Used to have us crying with laughter when he decided he wanted to hold court in whatever pub we were in. Not shy isn’t our Ken. Great to hear contributions about him but he will be hysterical about possibly being 60 and tbh I’m more surprised but delighted that he is still alive on a number of levels. Give him my regards if any of you see him.

Many years ago we watched Burnley CC at home v Rishton who had Allan Donald in their side at the time.
Allan came out to bat and was promptly out without scoring - I remember Ken taking great delight in repeatedly bellowing "Donald Duck" from the balcony of the pavilion/bar as the legendary former South African international fast bowler trudged off the pitch to howls of laughter from the spectators
