I fear for the future of the traveling supporter. I can see a day when tv companies insist all seats in stadiums are green. Then with technology they’ll impose a crowd onto the green back ground, then play a fans backing tape, possibly in a completely empty stadium. Football will be a fully fledged tv show.

Exeter travelling up to carlisle in the 3rd division makes òur journey look like a trip to the corner shop.......

Bet they can get home by train though from a 3 pm kick off - Burnley fans no chance tomorrow (or today).

I was thinking exactly this thought yesterday RC61 whilst reading another thread (fans v couch fans) where the thoughts were that clubs would be financially better of if they didn't need to cater for people wanting to attend games.

In fact you wouldn't need a stadium to maintain either, just paint the walls green and let cgi do the rest.

And yet the tv companies constantly say they want good away followings there because it improves the atmosphere which enhances their product. Then they just put obstacles in the way of away fans. BT Sport are far, far worse than Sky.

Only 50 miles difference and Carlisle fans won't need to take a park and ride. No M25 either, nowt in it

Carlisle were always going to have to play Exeter and the best time is 3 pm on a Saturday which they have got. Because of rail problems we have restricted options today. We are now driving to ensure we can actually get home.

I once got all the way down to Exeter and the game was called off back in the good old days

I went to Exeter that day too. Arrived in torrential rain, just as they were putting out signs saying 'Match Off'. Went to McDonalds and then drove all the way home! A long way to go for a Big Mac!!

Very much in agreement ridiculous time for the fixture...I travel to most of the southern games and make a weekend of it or couple of days midweek ...But Brighton make there ground difficult to reach also.....I can't be Ar$ed with the Hassle for the fixture personally.but well done to those that do. Utc

Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Plymouth, Exeter, Torquay, Brighton, Ipswich, Southend and Colchester are our longest journeys
And i have done more than half of those on night matches why do they do it. Brighton always gets messed about with, went down in appalling weather on boxing day once
Just checked this and it was after our promotion in 83 longer than I thought

I made the trip to Exeter as well was just coming off the M5 when it came on the radio. Went round the roundabout and straight back on the northbound side!
