I’ve been banging the Wood-Barnes drum on here since pre season so I’ll shut up Great partnership.

Things seem to going well for these two, their partnership is working and both seem to be understanding each other, not quite the Ings,Vokes scenario, but the lads are getting there, obviously Barnes and Wood wont be scoring as many as Danny and Sam but im sure they will give a massive contribution to us staying in the PL.

Surely they would score as many in the championship as Sam and ings did?

They're one of those partnerships that just balance each other nicely. Dyche has talked about lots of things that have changed since Boxing Day, but one he hasn't spoken about publicly but which he might privately admit is that he's gone back to basics himself: 4-4-2 with a partnership that has previously proved it can work well, hard working "wingers" who are comfortable playing narrow and at least one of which is really an auxiliary central midfielder, and a back 4 defending the width of the box when we're out of possession.

I doubt a team with Barnes and Wood up front is ever going to be especially attractive - their strengths aren't subtlety or great sophistication - but for the time being, it's exactly what we need.

Can anyone pin down any definitive stats?

The goals scored between them whist both on field one these last 2 season must be a very high rate per minute.

Just tried going off starts etc but then this misses out goals like the 3 at West Ham last season when 1 at home to Everton where one came on as a sub (where we first saw the partnership).

Minutes on the field together for Burnley when goals yielded would be good to know

Bit puzzled as to why they weren't partnered together earlier this season. Maybe Wood lost form and generally is more effective away from home. Only the management knows
