Think it was the gale force winds we had a couple of weeks or so ago that have caused the damage although they weren't in the best of condition before that.

History might say otherwise.
A bit of a blow for them having to change pro's.

As a team who went 140 years without winning any trophy, history would indeed be correct. But, since that time, things have got a little busier for the club's volunteer trophy polisher

Yeah, plenty of trophies recently.
Just waiting for that terrific youth set up of yours to produce a Lancashire star or even an England player.

Burnley CC is like the Blackburn Rovers of cricket.."We used to...." " We did this...." Clinging onto the past. Clearly the second best in Burnley and not just on the cricket field either. Light years behind off it. UTH

Shots fired....
I enjoy watching both teams, granted there’s some older Lowerhouse fans with chips on their shoulders after years of stick, but I also find the older BCC support to be grumpy and arrogant.

I'm only having a bit of fun. It's just a bit unbalanced with Lowerhouse fans on here, or they certainly make their selves known more.

Lowerhouse first won a trophy in 2004 2005 so starting from that date onwards, the following have been won.
Lowerhouse
League Champions 3 times
Worsley Cup Winners twice
T20 winners once
Burnley
League Champions twice
Worsley Cup Winners 4 times
T20 winners 3 times

I know local cricket clubs aren't awash with cash, though Burnley CC must have made a few quid in recent times.
Burnley CC always looks to me like it needs a makeover..even just a lick of paint in some places.
The place looks a bit tired..needs a few quid spending, inside and out.
- them or Lowerhouse?...Burnley everytime..

With the money they must have made since 2009/10, they should be walking the Lancashire League every season, given their takings on a Burnley FC matchday. They should now realise that they're now holding back the Football Club's progress and future development, and sell up, and move to a new site.
I'm sure our current board would be in a position to make an acceptable offer, and the Cricket Club now needs to urgently identify a site for a brand new ground, for a new Clubhouse, pitch, nets and all other associated facilities. Once the new facility is built, the Football Club could probably even afford to fund the Cricket Club at £150k p.a., indexed linked for the next 20 years . .. The Cricket Club needs to leave, we can no longer be sentimental, in the name of God, go !!

17.. I believe [I haven't checked] that the cricket club sold BFC the land to build Turf Moor, the football ground, way back then.
'Tread carefully' are the words that spring to mind.

It may be true but it's ancient history ...
Both Clubs need to move on ... look at East Lancs, rested on their laurels for years as the " biggest Club in the league ", and look at them now..
As the famous quote, from " The Leopard " by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa says, " the more you want things to stay the same, the more things are going to have to change " ...

Out board haven't shown any desire to improve the ground or rebuild any of the stands so what makes you think they want the cricket club?
The cricket club have the best income stream out of any club I know and would be fools to give it up. They won't be in a rush to move.

Couldn't agree more with Hampstead, Burnley CC is looking shabby and need of a freshen up and the collapsed fencing just adds to that feeling. With the money the club are pulling on on BFC match days I find that very surprising.

I may be wrong, but I'm sure a number of years ago it was all pretty much agreed that the FC would pay the CC a tidy sum, around £1 million? to move to the old waste ground at Fulledge and build a new CC. It got well down the line and the council were ok with it, but residents at Fulledge objected and it fell through. Did I dream all that or not?

The plans to relocate Burnley CC were linked with the proposed development of the ground and the Cricket Field End in particular. Never really got much further than futuristic pictures in the local press.

Not far short of 15 years ago that but the cricket club never agreed it and when it was all done and dusted the area would not have been big enough for a Lancs League cricket ground.
The more recent plans from Flood & Fletcher had the cricket club remaining where they are.
