Tarkowski

If I were him, after today, I'd be withdrawing voluntarily from the England squad, saying I need to seriously concentrate on improving my performances for the club who pay my wages.
Gibson must be gobsmacked and desolate if he can't get a game after this error strewn performance from him, been poor generally since he first got called up.
James, you aren't international standard and probably never will be, just get back to basics and be the solid defender you used to be.

A shame we don't have 2 decent centre backs. I'd drop both Mee and Tarks.

Last time he got called up it seemed to go to his head.
It appears to have done the same this time.

Must be so demoralising for the likes of Gibson and Vydra turning up for training day in day out knowing you aren't going to get a chance even when the players in front of you aren't performing.

Every now and again he throws in a shocker but that was by far his worst ever appearance in a Claret shirt. Maddison made him look like a schoolboy to win the fk he scored and the dive in on Vardy was again schoolboyish, all he had to do was stand up and Vardy had nowhere to go.

Long and Gibson? Both have proven more than adequate when given the chance. One area where we do have options.

I’d stick Long in. He’s far better than people take credit for. Had he played the amount of games both Mee and Tarks have played during their careers he’d be far better than both of them imo.

Long looks a better defender to me than Tarkowski and he doesn't think he is Pirlo.

I still think Tarkowski takes it all too lightly.

long is also far quicker than either Tarks or Mee then again Gibson is also quicker and the lack of pace at centre back meant we could not go to 3 at the back against 10 men and put another midfielder on coz of the Vardy factor Dyche's loyalty to certain players is proving costly

probably because he knows he'll be playing in the PL next season regardless

Madisson bought that freekick .
Showed his right leg over slowed down an waited to be hit.
Tarks stupid but I Fu@ing Hate the way the game is - two guys same pace one stops and puts a leg out to be hit = Foul.
The West Ham Pen'
The Sterling Pen' etc
Taylor gets his right foot knocked into his left but no foul.
We need a diving coach - Honesty is not rewarded

Vardy put him on his arse several times
Gave away the free kick which they scored
He thinks he is better then everyone else

So Tark has a big head which causes errors?
What’s Ben Mee’s excuse then for retardly, single handedly losing us a point today?
Amazing he gets a sniff in our 11

I thought the first goal was the fault of the 4 players around Maddison who couldn’t be arsed trying to put a challenge in meaning Tarkowski had to go after him. It clearly wasn’t a foul either, Maddison played the referee. I really don’t understand the criticism of Tarkowski. He’s our most valuable asset and looks far more comfortable at this level than Mee.
Tarkowski was, however, poor on the winner. Bullied by Morgan.

Be looking to cash in on him this summer. Not sure how he’s made the England squad.

As much as he was great last season, he’s been equally as poor this season. He’s gone backwards, but then so has the rest of the side. Both him and Mee have been rotten and I’m disappointed, but not surprised, that Gibson hasn’t had a look in.
I still believe Tarkowski is a good player, maybe not an England standard defender, but a comfortable PL one.

Tarks has been hit and miss for a while, as bad as he was today he’s also produced moments of brilliance this season.
Mee on the other hand only has 2 attributes which keep him in the starting XI. Bravery and hard work. Everything else in his arsenal is sub par for a premier league centre back.

Yes after yesterday’s shambolic performance I’d drop him for a match and give Gibson a chance.
Him and Mee have been very poor in some games this season but seem undroppable, odd.

A great defender who, like the team, is going through a sticky patch, which happens at the very top level.
Posts like the OPs are ******* ridiculous particularly at a crucial stage of the season when we need to get behind the team.

jesus, our best defender over the last few years and the OP wants him to ditch his England call up....................utter madness
Tarks is quality but like others is suffering from a dramatically sudden loss of confidence. If he hadn't had an England call up he'd be worth 12-15 million, the fact Southgate has called him up again has doubled his value - whatever division we are in I would be very surprised to see him playing for us next season

Its weird the Tarks hate. He is easily our best defender. Ben Mee has made far more errors but seems to get away with it with the Burnley fans because he puts his body on the line (So does Tarks) If we are dropping one then Gibson comes in for Mee.

I wouldn't worry about what's said on here bud, doubt the players have ever heard of the site let alone read it. Most fans don't know of it either. Venting our spleen is safe here, it's like farting in a room on your own.

Let's face it, almost the entire England defence and goalkeeper have suffered a big loss of form since the world cup.

Problem is both Mee and Gibson are both massively left sided players. For me Gibson and Tarks have to be given a go as a pairing if not now then next season.

don't think that will happen as I don't expect them both to be here next season regardless of our fate. I expect somebody to come in for Tarks at some point during the summer.

he has only been poor for a couple of games, other than that he has been very solid for most of the season. Mee, on the other hand, was awful for the first half of the season and has only shown glimpses of previous form since Xmas. That said I think every player should feel under pressure to fight for their place, but apart from the keepers, most of the others seem to be teflon.

I personally think Mee is a very good defender but his distribution isn’t the best. He compliments a more ball playing defender such as Keane or now Tarkowski. When Tarkowski gets the England call it’s ad though he thinks he’s made it and doesn’t need to concentrate as much and starts making wild passes.

I can understand the frustration of the fans, and those players stuck on the side lines, but now isn't the time to start experimenting with changes.
Saturdays team proved good enough for Man U and Spurs, sadly they look as if they thought the job was done.
Palace and Leicester both play on the counter, and set up perfectly to frustrate us. In games where we dominated possession we created practically nothing.
Yes Tarks was very poor against both, but it's not as if we would have won either game if not for him.
Teams seem to have sussed out Barnes and Wood partnership. We got the ball in some excellent positions on Saturday, but the final ball in was terrible. You need to attack crosses to win them, yet Wood and Barnes were both in the six yard box time and again waiting for the cross, when one or both need to hang back and either pick up the pull back or attack the six yard box when the cross comes in.
We were too static and predictable when it came to the final ball, and that wasnt Tarks fault.
I'm amazed Ben Gibson hasn't been given a start, a good defender, but a far more accomplished player of the ball. Even so, for the same reasons stated, this is not the time to experiment.
Next season, whichever league we are in, there needs to be a big shake up in the squad.
