I was thinking along the same lines. 1-1.

You'd think a draw would be enough.
It would mean them needing 3 wins from 5 games, and hoping we didn't pick up another point.
Which, if we did, would mean them turning over a big goal difference.
And there are three other teams between them and us as well!

Same line up as last week. Cardiff will probably go with a 4-2-3-1 and Peltier doesn't have the legs to keep Mc Neil in check. If they play Manga on the right that would be even better for us and Richards isn't up to the requirements of Premier League football.

We should get a lot of play down the left. Cardiff will attempt to rough Dwight up as ClaretLoup said, but Bournemouth tried that last week and he handled it very well, another positive sign for him.

With Hendrick on the right to cover Hoilet, shifting into the middle to bolster central midfield or release Westwood to press, recycle, create chances further up front we should do well. Their defence has looked shaky this season, although Morrison can be an attacking threat from set pieces should we take our eyes off him.

If we take the lead nerves could affect them. I think the team that handles the pressure the best will win and on the basis of our confident performance last week that will be us.

I would like to see us apply pressure from the outset, but I wouldn't be in a rush to push it. The longer that the game goes on the more things will play on their minds if the result is still level and arguably a draw would do us.

Agree a hard-fought 2-1 win,we have players who can pop up with goals they don't.

This game scares the hell out of me, we rarely play well against teams playing a similar style to Burnley. As another poster mentioned, teams could cancel each other out. Obviously Cardiff need to win, no doubt wily Warnock will have something up his sleeve! It’s up to us to take the game to Cardiff, get in their faces. An ‘edge of your seat’ 2-1 Burnley win, then hang on for the last 4 games, protecting our goals against advantage.

I think it all depends on which Burnley side turns up. Play like we did in the last two and we’ll be ok. Play like we did for most of first half of season then Cardiff will win. Expect the worst and (hopefully) be pleasantly surprised!!

Can’t wait to see how this unfurls. This is a must win for Cardiff. Prefer not lose for us. So the imperative will be to not let them take the lead. 0-0 with 15 minutes to go and it gets really interesting. Cardiff will have to start to open up. 3-0 to us with 15 minutes to go and it’s party time.

3-1 McNeil, Barnes and Wood

Like most of our games we need to score first (I know we didn’t last week) and if we do that I’m confident we will go on to win with a (Burnley) degree of comfort.

My greatest worry is it will be tight, they will frustrate us and then they nick one out of nowhere from a set piece or a long shot from the likes of holillet or camornesa (or what ever he’s called) . Coming from behind against a side that will be happy to sit in often sees us frustrated and the atmosphere in the ground tenses up, as do the players and we stop producing the football we know we are capable of and resort to constantly lumping it, which for Cardiff will be meat and drink.

Wonder if anyone can tell I’m slightly nervous .. (when it comes to burnley I always am)

The one thing in our favour is that Cardiff HAVE to win, we don't. I'd they don't open up it's their problem, not ours.

On paper, this should be the perfect game for us. They need a win and, maybe after a cagey start, should have to come out looking for it. We are much better at home against teams that come to attack us, and poor against teams who want to stifle us and hit us on the break with pace(eg. Palace). Cardiff don’t have their firepower, and also don’t have their defence.
If we manage the occasion, we should win this game. Not easily, but we should win it.

Agree with that. If we have the opportunity to play football, we will be too god for them.

If they come to grind it out and try to nick a 0-1, well it won’t be pretty, but we’ll beat them at that too.

An early goal for us(like against Wolves) would be a godsend.

0 v 0 - Expect it to be Championship standard football with Dyche setting up not to lose and the team meeting that objective comfortably

With the gap as it is we don't have to go all out for the win, unlike Cardiff! But I'm going for a 2 - 0 home win though.
