So if sheff utd beat Ipswich next Saturday then they are up due the goal difference with Leeds being far superior.. villa up through the playoffs, so hard lines Leeds.

Villa have won 10 on the bounce... hope they beat Leeds in the final.

Sheffield United play Ipswich at home next, a day before Leeds play Villa. Could be done and dusted, barring a huge goal swing, by the time Leeds next kick off.

Norwich effectively promoted now barring a crazy swing in goal difference,Leeds implosion has been shocking but very funny.

I'll never forget being sat at a bar down south in 2015 on the opening day. They went ahead around the 80th and this bloke who'd been giving it 'Premier League? Ha, as if' all game got up when they scored, got right in my face with a look of rabid delerium shouting "this is our year, OUR YEAR".......then Sam Vokes equalised 3 minutes later and I nearly wee'd all over my stool.

Leeds looked to have blown it. They have been in the top 3 all season. To fall at the last hurdle then go into the play offs will be pritty demoralising for them.

I quite like watching live games at Griffin Park, but do they pack the away end with onions, the visiting fans seem to be crying a lot in that end in recent years...

Leeds fans think they have automatic right to be in the PL. They don’t. By contrast Sheff Utd is a good club with good fans who were great prior to Wembley in 09 and also gracious in defeat that day.

They were certainly powerful onions 2 years ago.....

At the time of this game I was working on a contract at Network Rail in MK. There was a Rovers fan there, sadly he moved to another department on the Friday before this game, so I couldn't let him have it. I think it was the blondie on the pic who works for NR in London and I was trying to get one of the blokes who knew her to let me have her name so I could email her my "condolences" but he was having none of it.

Hhhmmm, not the experiences I've had regards great at Wembley and gracious in defear, although I'd much prefer them up than Leeds. There's only 2 teams Leeds are above in my dislike table.

It's in reference to when they lost in the 1975 final to Bayern Munich 2-0 when they felt they were supposedly hard done by having 2 penalty appeals turned down when the score was still 0-0.
And they thought the ref was biased towards Bayern throughout the all match.

Not the experience I had with Sheff Utd fans that day either. Out of all the interactions I had with their fans that day only could be said to have been gracious. Every other one was terrible and in most cases downright hostile.

In contrast the experience I had when I bumped into a group of Sheff Wed fans on my summer holidays that year was fantastic.

Being beaten in a play off final at Wembley and being in a sun drenched holiday resort are slightly different contexts.

Myself and my 2 teenage daughters had to run across railway lines to get away from a mob of Sheff utd supporters. Don't give me any of that gracious in defeat nonsense.

I only hope Leeds screw up in the playoffs, too.

It was Scotland, hardly a sun drenched holiday resort

Claretabroad holidays in Scotland.....suppose that makes sense!

The same logic applies though, meeting someone on their summer holiday is totally different to meeting them in the immediate aftermath of a Play Off Final their team has just lost.

Well not as severe as that at Wembley, but we had a mini bus full of lads on board.
They were more than happy kicking cars, punching windows, swearing and chanting at passers by and swinging at anyone who dared question or confront them whilst having a numerical advantage..... quickly got on their way after the tables turned and a few got a souvenir to take home.

Also so them kicking off at the service station car park , and even in the toilet too!

We were an hour behind them in leaving the stadium, so how we bumped into them I'll never know, might have just been looking for trouble whilst the normal nice fans got on their way.

Anyway them over Leeds any day, I like their club and it's style under Wilder.
