Man Citeh..what do you think?

I actually don't mind Citeh.
As a 10 year old in the 1950's, the first ITV programme I ever saw was Citeh bringing home the FA cup.
For a short while I even thought I supported them, until seeing sense and becoming a dedicated Claret.

Nowadays, I think they're really good on the eye, skillful team football.
Conversely, I detest ManU.

Thing is though, I have family, in-laws etc, who are L'pool fans.
So, for their sake, and of course , ours. I'd love to see the Clarets take something from Sunday's match.

Do you think there's any realistic possibility of this?
Where do you stand on the Man Cty Lpool title thing?
Can the Clarets surprise the football world and take a point from De Bruyne and co ?

Why not- their first half performance was described as nervous and R5 star pundit Robbie Savage suggested that the Clarets back four was superior to Manchester United's so we could be in with a shout as we will be able to play with carefree abandon.

I hope we don’t play with carefree abandon, they’ll tear us apart! Stick to what we know. Our best hope is a game like last season where they battered us for three quarters of the match but only managed one goal, then we have a go in the last 20.

I can’t disagree with that, but when they’re firing on all cylinders, they’re damn good to watch…….unless they’re playing Burnley.

As for which team I was rooting for tonight. On one hand I was hoping Utd would win to help ‘Pool win the PL. On the other hand I’d rather Citeh win so they wouldn’t feel the need to take a loss out on us this weekend.

You could look at it that way, I tend to think Pep has managed the best team with the most money in every league he has worked in. They play great football no doubt but I'm bored of them panning teams most weeks

I know a few City fans and of the 2 games.

When talking about which of the two games between United & us they were most worried about, it was ours they had their concerns.

Think we'll be 100% safe on Sunday and that will have an effect.

City and Liverpool have beaten everyone when the pressure is on. I don't see Sunday being any different.

Stick to what Dyche is good at, ensure we are still in the game after 70 mins defending for our lives.Dare I say a few tactical fouls if and when they break quickly, then its kitchen sink time. They know what's at stake and will be nervous - all this short balls playing out from the back takes just one mistake to capitalise on.Last 20 mins we lump it in the box and hope for another George Boyd or JBG moment - let's see Peps genius then.

City (and Chelsea) represent everything wrong with modern football.

Hope we smash 'em.

2-1. Westwood 11", Sane 34", Barnes 87"
What odds on that?

We haven't got a prayer of getting something out the game. Our anti-football won't work against the skills and quality of Gaurdiola's team of magicians. Now we are safe we can at least sit back and admire watching how the game of football should be played and simply enjoy the entertainment.

This season has shown us again that unless we're throwing ourselves 100% into absolutely everything then we're not much good, and very effective when we do.

Being safe now, I can't see us going 'full Burnley' on Sunday. People will say Dyche won't allow it but history tells us different. The moment we're safe in the Prem - or in Europe! - we're the most on the beach team there is. I don't mind that at all, we've achieved what we wanted. City and Liverpool can look after themselves.

Don’t like the way they have distorted football but they are very good to watch. They have seen harder times though and have some proper fans. Glad they beat Man Utd but probably better for football if Liverpool won the league. I just hope we are on it for Sunday. If we turn up thinking it’s job done we will get battered.

I like Man City. Mainly coz they aren't Man United. I'm not particularly on board with the ways City are run but hey, the football is magnificent. And they aren't United. I think, as a neutral, it'd be interesting to see the football landscape change in Manchester (or any city where one side has been dominant.) Granted, it could take many years for City to be considered United's equal in terms of trophies, but it'd be interesting.

I reckon City might be a touch complacent thinking they've got all their really tough games out of the way.

SD won't rest until we are 'Vince Fontaine and his Magic Numbers' safe.

We'll nick a point and hand the title to L'pool.

Their being owned by Abu Dhabi is a big negative for me. Abu Dhabi has a terrible record on human rights, torture and persecution of anyone who criticises the totalitarian regime. It has also been doing horrible things in Yemen, killing thousands of civilians.

What an awful thing it would have been if Abu Dhabi had taken over Burnley. You can't ever stop supporting your team but I would have absolutely hated it even if we won the Premier League through them.

And yet you get City fans going on about how great Sheikh Mansour is. Well if you dig a little deeper he's not great at all.

City are obviously a great team. However, if it's a toss up watching either them or Liverpool, I'd choose the latter every time (don't tell the missus). I think Guardiola will go down as one of the greatest, if not the greatest football coach of all time. However, personally I couldn't watch that type of football week in week out. I find it too sterile and robotic. A bit like music produced to perfection, too polished. I like an element of rawness to my music and likewise with the football I watch. Suppose that's what makes the PL what it is.
I know a few City fans who see us as the main threat in the run in. I'd be surprised if this wasn't shared by Guardiola.

City have only been a great team since being pumped full of money that has enabled them to buy two world class players for every position.

He may be one of the best domestic managers ever but after leaving Barcelona, Guardiola's European record with both Bayern and Man city is very poor for the money he's spent. He doesn't seem to have a plan B when teams attack them in Europe, and when playing Both Liverpool and Spurs over two legs their defence leaked goals for fun.

Until he gets some top quality defenders, Man city won't be winning the CL anytime soon.

It's one thing to play like they do in the Prem but they simply don't have the same defensive quality that's required on the continent.

Is it just me who thinks its actually pretty boring watching City play? I mean, granted technical brilliance, but its not an interesting watch. In almost every game they totally dominate the ball. Slow little triangles as they work their way up the pitch. Then Silva, or Sterling, or Aguero, does something brilliant and quickly, and it's either cleared by the defence (rinse and repeat) or it's a tap in for one of his mates.

When City took the lead last night I lost interest rapidly. There was no jeopardy. There was no 'will they, won't they'. And I think this is reflected in the general atmosphere at the Etihad and the number of free seats seen at most games.

I was also thinking last night that City will go on to win the league but it will be viewed as a poor season because they haven't won the Champions League and that Liverpool will get to the final of the CL but the season will also be viewed as another poor season because they haven't won the league.

However, reverse the situation and both clubs would probably be delighted!

Suppose it depends which team turns up.

The one who played so well against Chelsea on Monday night or the one against Arsenal at the end of last season?

Chelsea's anti football tactics worked quite well in League Cup Final - Excellent time wasting by Kepa his play acting was so convincing he even fooled his own manager. We can learn a lot from the dark arts Chelsea use.

I think he's got his heart set on getting the record for earliest double booking for time wasting, he'll have seen red by the 10th minute. We'll lose 17-0 deservedly so and be docked 15 points retrospectively for upsetting David Luiz.

I've no doubt he'll say that but remember the games against Arsenal away and Bournemouth or West Ham at home in the last couple of seasons. Once targets/bonuses are secured, it's all felt a bit pre-season friendly. Of course Man City are on a different level so it'll be hard to tell anyway.

It's not a criticism at all, they've done more than enough over the last few months but I don't expect a repeat of the Spurs performance from us on Sunday.
