How has that happened. Just like that Wembley was ten years ago. May Bank Holiday 2009.

Anyone any pictures from the day? Memories? How did you get there?

Incredible day. Incredible result. That gave us the belief and set us up to come back. 25 years after dropping down to the 4th.

We went down in a limo. Parked up at uxbridge. Cracking day. Couldbt stomach a beer. But remember little of the match itself. Was all a huge blur.

When that goal went in was totally surreal. But dont recall ever being nervous. Went with pure belief and expectation. Which was totally against what watching Burnley was all about.

What a day - from the Bristol match it all just felt a formality.

1st time I’ve truly witnessed the town buzzing and getting behind the club. That day and that season was bloody special!!

I know there are pics of a much larger me, one of which ended up in the Lancashire Telegraph, although I no longer have these.

I had been at Villa-Newcastle the day before and traveled down to London afterwards with two quite drunk Geordies in the same carriage. Barely slept and set off for Wembley ludicrously early.

What a day that was. When we got back we watched the recording too. I remember feeling worried, as if the result might change if I watch it again.

There was a part just after we scored when we all sang and the commentators stayed quiet, it was magical to watch back. Even though I had been there and joined in, to hear it on telly, 40k of us singing no nay never was a very proud moment. Cant find a clip of it though.

Similar. Nipped out for 'just one pint' the day before. Villa Newcastle was on. Ended up out all day. Got in at 06:00 was meant to leave at 06:30. Overslept in my mates spare room. But luckily our limo turned up at the wrong house in Accrington :D :D

Travelled down all hazy. Got stuck in traffic but made it OK in the end. Half time bumped into all the celtic players who came to watch Caldwell. Got them singing some songs Celtic fans wouldn't be happy with

Best day of my life, hadn’t been to bed straight down on a coach with my family and friends, didn’t bother coming back and slept on someone’s floor, was sat on Wembley way at 3am smoking cigars with some random fans, had a few hours sleep then went and bought every single different paper and read the reports all the way home

Can’t believe it’s 10 years

What a night, wandered out of a bar towards XS and stumbled into that. People hanging off lamppost- the town was in full on party mode.

The Play Off final was on my niece’s 3rd birthday - her uncle got her a match ticket :D Never been so convinced we would win a game in my life.

Interesting the journey Sheff Utd have had these last 10 years. Lose one game 1-0 and such things can happen.
We manage a 1-0 win and what will it be half a billion pounds later we are about to start year 6 of what will be 11 at top table-although only getting the scraps?

Absolutely. Never mind the first team. Just the whole change in infrastructure at the club is incredible. In fact owning the ground never mind redeveloping it.

Fair enough the money ran out. But the foundations were laid.

Some great photos. The play off final will go down has the greatest game of my life to date and I have been a season ticket holder since 1971.
I never thought that I would ever see my team play in the Premier league, even when we were in the championship.

I’ve never been so p!ssed watching a match. I have virtually no memories of the game. The DVD afterwards filled the gaps.
I was so nervous, pre-game, that after my group settled in a bar in Kilburn, I proceeded to drink Long Island Ice Teas in the sunshine until I could barely speak.
The Journey to the stadium, the match itself, and trip to Cricklewood afterwards were a bit of a blur. Our train North was a dry one, so I sobered up on the journey home.

Searching for some photos but can't find them - is the dvd of the full match pine anywhere?

My son and I had to leave straight after the match as we had to catch a flight, so missed all the on-pitch celebrations :(

I had told my son to pray that the match would not go to extra time as we would have had to miss either the flight or extra time. He said "I know what we'll miss in that case - there's no way of dragging us off the match!!!!"

We exited Wembley into a stream of long-faced Blades fans. We had hidden our colours as a precaution but I trhink that we still stood out as we were walking about 2 feet off the ground :)

It was one of the weirdest days ever. I got up as normal and went to work in Londons West End. Not allowed to wear club shirts etc so I was wearing light blue trousers and a claret harrington. As noon approached one of my colleagues who had very kindly agreed to cover for me, arrived at work. I walked down Oxford St got the tube to Wembley, watched the match, left more or less straight after the final whistle, then got the tube back to work.

Can't say as I did much work. 10pm on the train from Waterloo back to Fleet chatting to the train guard, a Bournemouth fan, about Wade Elliott.

Frightening to think it's ten years ago. Bloody frightening.

Certainly was a fantastic day. Accy Clarets took over 1000 people/21 coaches to the game. I was due to fly to Turkey the day before for a week's holiday (booked well before we knew we'd got to Wembley) so cancelled the flight and booked another in the evening after the game. It was well worth the extra cost and losing a couple of days holiday! UTC
