In London for the weekend and looking forward to the Derby meeting today. Hoping for the Dash/Derby double as it's on my bucket list. Going with my two sons as usual. Anyone else going today?

Ive been going to the Friday of this meeting, Oaks Day, for many years now (with a group of (now ex) workmates). It's a great day out &, for me, signals the start of summer sports outings (races, cricket etc).
I like the Friday because it's a good deal less crowded (and less rowdy) + it's Ladies Day so a very nice atmosphere and many very well turned out ladies.
Saturday is obviously a more iconic day and it's certainly good to go once to sample.
I hope you have a winner or two. Take the sun cream though, weather forecast is clear & 23/24C.

Surprised there is no betting thread for this meeting.Guess tybfc is too busy.

The Derby is a very good day out if you plan properly, as it can get pretty busy down there - transport needs sorting, no way would I drive, always the train from Waterloo/Clapham Junction ( there is a station at Tottenham Corner) and get my bets on the day before, saves time on the day - plenty of food outlets but I always have a couple of sandwiches with me.. loads of bars to stop you dying of thirst - I been about 5/6 Derby’s including Shergar in 1981, won by a mile. I have gone with Telecaster today.. have fun if you’re there.

Not a bad day so far

Good shout on soto sizler. Had a side 20 on it

Just back, very hot but not that busy. Managed to have 2 winners, the first race winner covered all my bets then had solo sizzler. Good day for my two boys as well.
