Sad news.

I didn't know him that well but seen him around the CF stand and spoke to him in Athens.

Rest in peace Claret

Certainly a well known face home and away. Scary really how you can set off on a trip away with your mates and this happens. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

Very sad news.
Followed Burnley home and away.
Im sure he will be having a pint with Damo up there, and telling him the tales of our Europa campaign.

Thoughts are very much with his family and friends.

Rest in peace

For those of us who have no idea of what information people are reacting too is there a link to an article.

Always sad to hear of losing a fellow claret
Frustrating that I may be an acquaintance and don’t realise / haven’t heard.

It's all over Facebook but probably wise not to post his name on here yet just in case he has friends who haven't heard yet. Wouldn't be the best way of hearing about it.

Ok I don’t do other social media unless forced by work ( I usually end up being collared for in depth conversations when I go on it)

RIP

I’m guessing it was out of the blue. :-(

I managed to find his name (being the nosy bugger that I am) by searching Craig RIP into Facebook search.
We've a few mutual friends on Facebook, but I don't know him.

RIP.

No offence meant but if you can't mention a name you shouldn't post on a public message board, at least until you can.

It's not fair on the rest of us who have no idea who you are talking about.

Apparently they're raising a glass to Craig at 13:00 in the Angel for anyone who knew Craig, or wants to pay their respects.

Craig was on his way to the game but his unfortunate death was not in any way football related.

Sad to hear of a fellow Claret passing away but I do find this thread very strange given it doesn’t give any clue as to who it is. Like hipper, I question whether it should have been posted.

His name is Craig Golding. I think he was 50. He travelled to away games with Paul Grace's gang on Accy Clarets.

I guess a few on here knew of it / him and the op was posting respect. But at the same time some of his mates may not have been aware and wouldve been a pretty **** way to find out. Hence not naming him.

If that had been the case it would have been the right thing not to post it at all. But Leisure has posted his name now.

I did check with Paul Grace that it would be ok to give Craig's name before I posted it and I'm fairly sure that by now Craig's mates etc will be aware of his passing.

Great guy to travel to games with. Could not say no to a football trip - organised planes, trains and automobiles for many of us to watch Burnley and England. He helped sorted out my first England away match as 17 year old and I had the pleasure of drinking beer with him in Malta watching them as a mid-30 year old.

A good father, brother and friend to many Clarets.

He sat directly behind us in the Longside upper and the step behind in the Cricketfield - we’ll miss his outlook on football and life.

RIP Ding

One of those faces I’ve seen almost weekly for the whole time I’ve watched Burnley, never really knew him but a lot of my friends and family did, always breaks my heart when another one leaves the team! Will live on with the rest of the Burnley family

He sounded like a brilliant chap, it's so sad at his age. He certainly supported his club and country. He'll be missed by all his family and friends. May a true claret rest in peace.
