Norden 91/9 off 50 overs? I thought Lowerhouse were a bit tippy tappy at the moment but that takes the biscuit :-)

Very strange innings but looks like it's a low scoring say all around the league today. Very impressed with Jim Allenby so far

Interesting to note that these weekly updates are more often than not started by the same Burnley CC fan this season. They certainly weren't last season  . Lets see if it lasts eh? :D

The league split has given them chance to compete and they’re playing well.

They’ll struggle if they go up but no doubting they are doing well and probably enjoying it more than they have in years!

I know it's relatively early days, but the two divisions seems to have worked as in both are actually very competitive, particularly the first division where, as already mentioned, the race is basically wide open and just when somebody has a couple of good weeks and hits the top, somebody else knocks them off. It's really unfortunate the weather has been generally poor as it's affected some results and it's also meant pitches aren't great for batting and there's been some ridiculously low scores.
As an aside, someone above mentioned Norden and (along with several other clubs) it's a place where the off field facilities are very impressive and rather plush. Consequently they are very well used by the locals (and not just those interested in cricket either) which must generate quite a bit of cash. The investment in those facilities must have cost quite a bit, but it shows that if you can make the facilities attractive, people will come along and use them. That doesn't necessarily mean success on the field as that's a whole different "investment" in time and effort with kids from a very early age and all the way up to seniors and it needs a legion of people at every club willing to give up their time and put loads of hours and effort in. I've noticed that some other clubs with excellent facilities haven't made that investment and don't have the players on the field to compliment it unfortunately. I suppose the Holy Grail is getting both things flourishing and that's a really tough ask.

The standard of the league this year is a lot better. Every game could swing either way. I don't think I've been to a game this year where we (Burnley) have blown away any teams in the league.

BTW Allenby looks a real player
