Only 2 Burnley players in Republic squad
Long time since that's happened

It was good to see Robbie full out sprinting to get his header. Great stuff

For me I wouldn't be disappointed if we lost him. He was looking good before his injury but just can't get fit and can't get into the swing of things. Hopefully a good pre season and good start to the season proves me wrong but hasn't set the world alight yet

John Walters said he’s had the sort of problems so many players get after a bad injury with one minor problem after another. Dean Marney suffered exactly the same after his first cruciate and there have been others.
Will be good to have a fully fit Robbie Brady back next season.

Highlights is very poor English for a very poor performance.

The more minutes under his belt the better, I have my doubts but I hope that he proves me wrong!

If he could get back to the form he showed before the Leicester injury he starts in this team. His delivery was unreal. But I can't see it.

He's lost the shirt to McNeill, will take some level of performance to win it back. If he's lucky, due to McNeill playing over the summer, he may start the season giving him the opportunity to claim it back.

there is no reason why if he has a full on pre-season following his bit parts at the end of the season and irish training that he cant make an impact next season.
I have a feeling he will do just that -don't ask me why but I think he can and will shine

Me too. Exactly the same happened with Vokes.

In certain match situations Brady could come on wide and McNeil could move in one.
We keep being told this will be Dwights eventual position.

I thought he was a cracking signing at the time but it hasn't worked out at all. I know some will pretend he was a world beater before his injury (a strange Burnley fan thing where players become much better while sat out injured) but the odd game aside, before his serious injury, i thought he was pretty gash.
I think the goal away at Bournemouth is the only time i've seen him use his right foot, lacks any kind of pace and for the left foot quality he has, too often his deliveries don't beat the 1st man. Really disappointing signing with hindsight, I'd look to get rid and invest elsewhere, Mcneil is much better.

"We keep being told this will be Dwights eventual position."

Quite a few posters - I'm definitely one - have speculated that this might be his best role in the long run, and I know that Jon Walters said when he was doing match day analysis on Sky in the Spring that he viewed him as a central midfielder (the inference was that this is the club's view too). Jamie Redknapp said something similar on Sky as well (as did others, but I can't recall who). That said, his crossing makes him a real asset out wide for us right now. But in the long term, his all round technical quality (and the fact the one thing he doesn't have is genuine pace) means I can easily imagine him in a more central "prompting" role.
As for Brady - the idea he's a signing that just hasn't worked out is suspect, really. He was intergral to the team that pushed into the top 4 in the first half of the 2017/18 season, before a really bad injury ruled out for the season and caused the niggles that dogged him last season. Like Ings, Barnes, Vokes and others before him, hopefully a good close season and pre-season means that those things are behind him now. If they are, then that will give us a great competition down the left hand side - and given that Brady has certainly played in a central role ahead of 2 holding midfielders (and has been used on the right for us periodically, where his ability to switch the play has been handy), there's certainly an option of playing them both.

The other string to Brady’s bow is as our cover at LB now Stephen Ward has departed.
He’s played there many times before.

Yes, I think that was his position at youth level.
However, the same was said of Ryan Giggs for several years (including by Alex Ferguson) until everyone realised he was a lot more effective as a winger rather than in the middle.

I think RB will be a much better player this season, his terrible injury must have been so frustrating for him as well as us fans because he was playing brilliantly before that, on his day he can be unplayable against opposition, a clever player with bags of skill, hope he stays injury free and show us just how good he can be.
