Shanghai Clarets

Ni hao. As the season approaches, perhaps a group of Shanghai-based clarets could be established? A mate said he saw a Shanghai Clarets flag at a pre-season tournament in Nanjing and it got me thinking. Surely enough to form a group to watch games in a city of 26 million for a club as illustrious as ours.

Was in Shanghai with work last year- wonderful experience!
There are a few of us exiles in touch here in New Zealand now (population circa 4.8 million) so sure you can find at least a couple more clarets in your super city!
I need to get something official set up here too! Maybe we could twin Auckland and Shanghai and make it a multi-national thing!

Sounds good to me. Would be a nice break from the pollution! I know a lot of folk come to Shanghai on holiday or an short-term contracts.

How long have you been living there for? I couldn’t believe how advanced technologically you were in the city..... found it hard even to pay for things in some places with a credit card .... and don’t even ask about a cash point/atm!
Will be better prepared with WeChat pay if I ever end up there again!
I think you can search/register a supporters club here;
http://www.myburnleyfc.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the club looks very accommodating of this.
And think that Claret Tony has said previously that he is happy to support/ help advertise any events via uptheclarets.com also. Think Melbourne Clarets is very active that way.
That may be the most practical way to start, then people can find you as opposed to stumbling upon a thread on here (which they might easily miss)
I’m going to look to get an Auckland Clarets branch set up soon!

Been here a year and yes, Alipay and Wechat pay are fantastic. No need for cash and cards and as you say, not accepted in some places. My local pet store does not accept money. Unreal.

I am a Burnley supporter living in Shanghai (four years). It would be great to meet up some time. Will be back from holiday in September: let me know your Wechat address.
