Is it all corners of Burnley that currently stink from all this muck that’s been spread?

Heard that a permit has been given to use the waste from the abattoirs as opposed to the usual stuff that is spread - should be fun if this is spread for a few weeks now :(

Would it not technically be the same stuff?

I can still remember the smell when you walked down Westgate towards Massey's Brewery. I strange combination of malt, hops and yeast being mixed together. It was a unique smell all round that area.

We used to take a short cut into town which involved walking down the brick river bank at the back of the skin yard then taking what seemed like a death defying leap over the 3 foot wide river channel under the bridge, emerging at the back of what is now Tesco's. 8-) . The smell of the steam escaping from the pipes will never be forgotten

You used to get a welcome when you arrived by train at Burnley Central - the smells from the brewery and the abattoir.

It’ll probably smell the same as the old Beehole End toilets. Nostalgia.

Smiths crisps had a factory near us and used to take their waste up onto the moors and dump it, legally, but, apart from making stink bombs at school, the foulest smell imaginable.

When Bradshaw's tripe works in Padiham were cooking, the smell was overpowering, made your eyes water as you walked through town.

None of the above smells are as bad as those at Ewood Park.
