According to SSN Swansea approached us to see about signing Wells, no fee mentioned.
Could see this happening before Thursday.

Are we short of money or I have I missed something else?ClaretAndJew wrote:We have to sell to buy
Nope, it's coming out of our ear holes.box_of_frogs wrote:Are we short of money or I have I missed something else?
You may have missed the idea that rumours aren't necessarily true.box_of_frogs wrote:Are we short of money or I have I missed something else?
No that's wax and you should clean it.Funkydrummer wrote:Nope, it's coming out of our ear holes.
No - happy with that. Your statement however appears to be more fact that rumour.....dsr wrote:You may have missed the idea that rumours aren't necessarily true.
Other brands are availableFunkydrummer wrote:Nope, it's coming out of our ear holes.
I bet you we don't. But if we bring someone in it makes sense to move a player on if he's deemed surplus to requirements.ClaretAndJew wrote:We have to sell to buy

Our 4th choice forward gets about a game a seasoned in combined minutes, so both could leave.FactualFrank wrote:If Wells goes, we can't afford to let Vydra go to Leeds. We'll have 3 forwards.
If one of our forwards gets an injury it means we have no forward on the bench. Would you risk that if you were a manager?MACCA wrote:Our 4th choice forward gets about a game a seasoned in combined minutes, so both could leave.
Also theres Jeff who has and can play number 10 if we had the unfortunate situation where 2 of the 3 forwards were out.
It's not like we have prolonged cup runs etc. We average 40 games a season, 3 forwards is ok.
I'd be very surprised if Vydra is here on Friday, and if he is I'd be surprised if hes played in anything other than an absolute emergency.
It's something we've been willing to do before multiple times, for multiple positions.FactualFrank wrote:If one of our forwards gets an injury it means we have no forward on the bench. Would you risk that if you were a manager?
And Jeff cannot play the number 10 - we all know that![]()
3 forwards is not ok. Not at all.
That's my point. You need a 4th forward for that reason - an 'emergency'.MACCA wrote:It's something we've been willing to do before multiple times, for multiple positions.
Any way its all irrelevant, Vydra wont be here, and the 4th choice will see a combined 90 minutes of premier league football if he is lucky.
It wouldn't matter if the 4th choice was Wells, or John Wooferson who lives 5 doors down from me, both not good enough, and would be used purely in an emergency ( and even then I think another player out of position would be preferred )
That's it in a nutshell.MACCA wrote:

Dyche only wants the bodies for training purposes. He will use a regular player out of position before he goes down the pecking order.

Swansea just sold McBurnie to Sheff Utd for 20 million, I would imagine we will comfortably recoup the 5 millionWoodleyclaret wrote:Wells cost £5m I think we massively overpaid but unfortunately will have to take whatever we can to get rid of him
That's assuming that Jeff isn't already filling in at midfield !!Goody1975 wrote:If we started with two strikers (one of them gets injured) and Dyche turns to the bench, has the option of bringing Hendrick or Wells on then Nahki better get ready to hold Jeff's training top.
