Hi Reb - I would be mighty surprised if the tickets don't go onto General Sale.

I hope you're right, Leisure. I see we have a 1,520 allocation. I thought we might sell out as it's early in the season. Fingers crossed.

Did anybody come up with a sensible reason why tickets go on sale at the times at these seemingly odd times?

It's when the ticket office closes so nobody can moan at them.

I bought mine yesterday and the "seat" is 000/0000/0000/0582. I have always assumed the number "seat" is the number we have sold, but I might be completely wrong.

My Dad received a phone call from the foundation/lottery office this morning saying they had 5 tickets available and were we still interested. Delighted! Great service.

I hope your assumption is correct. I'm not a season ticket holder, living way down south, and hoping to get a ticket first thing Friday morning. I'm not a big fan of the new stadium but I know a few Gooners & enjoy a trip there with a few friendly drinks before and after. Otherwise Brighton in mid-Sept will be my next hope of an away game.

I don't think his assumption is correct but I would be surprised if they didn't go on general sale so you should be ok.

Yes- that time helps me. It was the same early KO there last December & I got a ticket then. Horrible time, no time for lunch and barely time for a beer. Still- get a late/liquidish lunch afterwards and hopefully celebrate points there for once.

Yep- just got one online. I had a note in my diary that they went on general sale online at 09.15, went in there just a tad ahead of that and got one - no trouble. I'm well pleased because, though I dont like the stadium much & we never get owt there, It's an easy trip for me and can meet a couple of old mates who are gooners.
I think weve got a decent chance of getting something there this year- especially if it's Barnes v Luiz.

So have we decided the numbers online don't mean anything, or do mean something, as Sean Dyche's Watch number would suggest an increase? Maybe my theory is right?

I think it refers to those sold online but not including those bought directly from the ticket office.

But does it refer to each transaction or no of tickets sold? Ie if 4 tickets are purchased online is there 1 number or 4? The mysteries of the universe! :D

I was a bit excited when we drew them in the FA Cup in 2009 thinking it might be a one off visit to their new ground. Saturday will now be my eighth visit.

On our Ist visit to Emirates in the 1st Prem Season.... we took our seats and a buxom middle aged woman tapped me on the Shoulder and said she was apologising before the game started for her swearing as her language would be rather blue.....
A bloke in their party shouted down the row to her "was she going to get her t*ts out" she shouted back "he could P**s off as she only got her t*ts out at Wembley"

The rest of the game passed with listening to their beer fueled banter of a similar vein....

It was hilarious and made up for the loss.

On the subject of ticket numbers (as maybe indicated by the number shown in "seat" column in your purchase history).

Following earlier posts (post 10 having 0582 and post 21 getting 0759), I got my ticket on Friday and it was 0833. So there does appear to be some sort of sequence there.
I guess it's transactions made rather than tickets sold though. Presumably some purchasers have grabbed 2 or more tickets so hopefully well over 1,000 and maybe close to full allocation (1500?) will be taken despite the awkward k.o. time.
Thankfully, I've got a seat near the back (row 21) as I did in December; I prefer not being v close to ground level in that corner & don't mind standing if I have to. Should be a decent atmosphere following on from last week's result, hopefully even better at the end of the game.
