I like this move by Brizzle - they've written to other clubs in the Championship outlining that they wont be deliberately kicking the ball out for opposition players on the deck- unless it's an obvious head injury (in which case the ref should halt the game).

Great move by Bristol City. Its got to the point in the premier league where the play gets stopped if a player off the edge of the pitch is injured. PLAY ON!!

Very “clever” with their fouls are Pep teams.

Will foil an opposition player on the break around the half way line which means the fouling player probably won’t get a card and gives the defending team time to regroup and not get caught out. They are masters of it at City now and it’s a disgrace that players that good should have to stoop to those levels to gain an advantage.

I think your words 'on the break' make that a bookable offence, so it's poor work from the ref if they escape a booking.

As a fan it is “on the break” where you can see the chance of pushing up the pitch. The “skill” City have is stopping it before it actually develops into pushing on up the pitch. Have a watch of City and see where they foul players in the opposition half after losing the ball or just as a break will happen .... a ref will look at it as not being a big chance as it’s so early so usually escapes anything other than a free kick being given.

That’s a really good explanation. To counter their tactical fouling I would encourage tactical injuring, as in if you’re the player being tactically fouled you need to do what you can to make it hurt the player fouling you. Human nature means they would stop, or go off injured and call us dirty, which is what they do anyway

Good. Everyone should make this statement as it drives me mad, not least of all because players are usually faking it when play is stopped.

All the clubs have now been warned by they'll not be stopping so there can be no arguments.

Quite a to-do that Funkydrummer. This happened because of uncertainty/incorrect assumptions. The Villa players stopped defending properly on the (false) assumption that Leeds would stop play; they wouldnt assume that if it was pre-stipulated by Leeds that they wouldnt be doing that - then no problems because everybody knows what to expect.

It'd be good to see the number of "down and rolling in agony with a minor knock" incidents cut significantly. Rugby players manage to play on after major collisions because they know their team will be a man down if they roll about on the floor, no reason footy players cant do the same.
