Today was the biggest opening day win since Gordon Harris got a hat trick in 1966 and we beat Sheffield United 4-0

and if my memory serves me right the Sheffield Utd game was also 0-0 at half time.

I was only 11 but i remember Eddie Hodgkinson the Blades keeper applauding Bombers 25 yard half volley into the top corner.

I think you might be mixing two keepers up. There was Eddie Hopkinson at Bolton and Alan Hodgkinson at Sheffield United.

Along similar lines a stat I saw on the BBC - first time we have won a top flight home game on the opening day since Coventry in 1967
