Wonderwall

A terrible war breaks out over the subject of Wonderwall between those who believe it is the best song in the world and those who believe it is the worst song ever recorded. There's no room for nuance, atrocity drives you to pick a side. With which side do you stand and how many war crimes do you commit to trample over and utterly eliminate your enemies? I deploy barrel bombs before blockading the territory of the filth who believe it the best song ever made.

That makes about as much sense as the song does

War often is senseless.

You remind me of the midget from In Bruges as he's ranting about the inevitable war between the blacks and the whites and asks an entirely impartial Brendan Gleeson to pick sides....
But anyway, as conflicted as I am as I've got close friends on either side of the divide, I'd be with you I reckon. **** wonderwall. Wonderballs, amirite.

I think it's a victim of it's own success. Not Oasis' best song by a long chalk but suffers from radio airplay which is the default setting. A similar thing to what happens with....
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
The Smiths - This Charming Man
The Jam - Town Called Malice
Madness - Baggy Trousers
I could go on

Going to see Liam in Glasgow in November, the better half of Oasis, and the only one who can sing Wonderwall..I hate Noel's attempts at it.

What is a 'wonderwall'?

Wonderwall is drivel, it really is, like most Oasis songs. But it's nowhere near as bad as She's Electric. That really is terrible in every single way.

It could be a wall that I have built , a wall that you have drawn or even a wall in front of a free kick consisiting of Brian Flynn, Ashley Westwood and Peter Crouch.

Its also really easy to play on guitar, often making it the first song that wannabe rockstars / bang average buskers learn.

I'm a bit disappointed in the number of appeasers on this thread. Fat lot of good you lot would have been in the late 30's/early 40's. For further context, my neighbour a few doors down only played it full blast in his back garden another six times Saturday afternoon after I started this thread, so although my patience is beyond snapped, I've now decided not to kill him violently, but still...you all disappoint me greatly.

Never got why people say this. Oasis are massive fans. That’s it. They sound nothing alike.
Blur are far more like The Kinks than Oasis are like The Beatles.
