Taking away the penalty we look very good so far and it bodes well for the rest of this season.
We completely nullified Wolves for the most part and I suspect we'll do that to many more teams this season.

I thought it was the most comprehensive performance we've had in terms of being in complete control since we beat Swansea at home, excellent performance and should have scored at least 3 - Europa league or not Wolves are a very good side

We are not the prettiest to watch but we are effective and that’s what matters. Reminds me of how Stoke used to play before they decided they could play a better brand of football and consequently got relegated.

I only watched on the internet and am no expert, and I'd agree with you for the 1st half, and beginning of 2nd half. But after that, through fatigue(?),or fear we sat to deep and lost control of the ball. Still, from a defensive point of view we were immense for the most part.
Think we just need that extra bit of belief and composure on the ball particularly later on in matches. Anyway, lots of good signs for the season ahead!

Compare it to last season at Molineux. Chalk and cheese.

I agree we look solid and coherent.
Table looks great but then you realise were 8 places up on goal difference.
Was hoping some more teams would still be on 1s & 0s still

Don't worry about points mate come the end of the season we will have more than enough to stay up.

I thought we were brilliant today, one of the best performances under dyche, we won the ball back so well and some of that liquid football which accompanied it was a joy to watch.

We look a bit more solid than last season and a bit more confidence going forward .Lots of players fighting for a place too which is good. I think we have good injury cover, better sub options and the odd tweak could see us as good as any teams not involved in the top six circle jerk

We'll take plenty of points off teams outwith the big 6,solid unit this season which was badly lacking at the start of last term, gutting to lose 2 points today, but i think most people would have taken a draw pre-match,another goal for Ash he's becoming potent at PL level now, long may it continue.
After the Liverpool game which is a free hit really,we've got Norwich and Brighton, every chance of 6 points from those 2 games,i certainly don't envisage us being in the relegation mix this season.

Remember, two seasons ago we only lost five away from home. We look just as solid as we did then as well.

I’d also add in how well we played against Arsenal last week. If we carry on like this we will finish mid table without a problem

Yet wolves got a point from us.
And so it begins.
And it's **** like this that lands us fighting for survival instead of finishing mid table

We looked good but you can’t forgwt wolves have been awayin Europe. Any normal day and they’ve had probably smashed us.

If we went with that kind of thinking, every team would have an excuse after every Premier League game.

I said to my little lad at half-time that to see your team play like they did in the first half today is as good as it gets in football, we were awesome.

No chance, we were better and stronger all over the pitch today for most of the game until, as someone pointed out quite rightly on another thread, we surrendered the midfield in the last third of the game and it cost us.

Agree with the OP. In the opening half of last season we looked like nailed on relegation fodder, and I’m a happy clapper.
This season we look very strong. The back four have been fantastic, particularly Tarkowski who has been imperious in this opening three games. We have competition for places across the squad and players like Drinkwater and Brady to come into the fold.
First half today we absolutely dominated and more often than not Wood and Barnes would have finished their chances and this would have been a re-run of West Ham away a couple of seasons ago.
If we play like this we’ll take points off most of the bottom half both at home and away. I’m not in the least bit concerned about this season and it would be nice to be pushing for a top half finish.

and I'll add we are playing some decent football too, we might go direct sometimes but we are mixing it up more than we have ever done at PL level and Dyche has to take huge credit for that (and that was always my biggest issue with Dyche especially last season)

Realistically, we should be a lower end championship side at best. Every single week we are pitted against teams that should wipe us out. If we were a states team there would be a film in the offing with Leonardo as our chairman (president).
We’re living the dream - if we get a result we’re euphoric. How much ecstatic joy do the top six supporters experience?........Let’s enjoy it while it lasts.

3-0 v Southampton speaks for itself
18 attempts on goal away to arsenal
dubious penalty conceded away to wolves after 5 mins of injury time
Indeed we are looking an impressive side

I'd be really upset if any of our starting eleven got sold, even for a decent amount of money such as Tarkowski would bring.
The game shifted when we tried to defend it out, if we'd kept up the intense attacking play we did in the first half we'd have won three nil, we had the ball in their box every two minutes in the first half.
But I spent all of the first half waiting for a Burnley goal and the last twenty minutes waiting for a Wolves goal.
Why did we tail off? Was it when Lennon came on for McNeil? Would it be better to let Barnes play the game out?

Totally agree for 80 mins we look a very impressive team.
Last 10 mins not so, our squad/subs did not influence game.
Wolves got a point because of their bench being so much stronger than ours.
Our overall spend in 2019 is nil and it showed itself today in those final seconds.

We are certainly progressing. And with practically the same players.
Good win over Southampton (draw last year), just losing at Arsenal and well in the game until near the end (beaten last year despite a good performance), and a good draw which really should have been a win at Wolves (defeat and out played last year).

Yet another improvement from SD.
After telling McNeil to get early crosses in, on his debut, what a plus that was. We now have both full backs making runs inside their wideman and finding space. It’s taken too long and I put it down to a lack of confidence in the defence and keeping their shape but this is a major step up for us. Lowton in particular is popping up in areas he’s never been near before.

The only negative from yesterday was that we were well on top first half that we need to kill teams off and make the 2nd half more comfortable and we had enough chances.

I’m not too concerned about that. We’re usually pretty clinical and as i said above, Barnes and Wood would convert those chances more often than not. The positive thing for me is how much time we are spending in the opposition’s third. I have been confident that we would score in each of the games so far and with the defence looking on form we have every right to be positive.
