Will you be going to watch "IT" (Part 2) when it's released at the cinemas a week on Friday (6th September)?

Not based on that trailer. I’m sat in the sun checking around for clowns now... thanks for that :o

Just keep in mind it's Chapter 2, when Pennywise comes back. So if anybody has never read the book or seen the film, you're best off watching Chapter 1 first.

One word, one syllable, two letters, begins with 'N' and ends in 'O' :D

Already booked my tickets.
I did consider a midnight showing, but I decided against that.

What's the earliest showing? As we're hoping to watch it early evening and then go out to a few bars after.

I think this part will be better than the last. It's a good book but has one particular chapter I'd avoid if you haven't read it before, which the films sensibly avoided imo.

Has anyone read any other Stephen King books? He's got a new one out in September called "The Institute" that looks appealing. Looks a bit like Firestarter which I think is one of his best.

Why does he get his name in front of the film? Does he think he's Frank lampard or Steven Gerrard or something?

. has enjoyed some of King’s work. He finds that too often King loses his way in a lot of the stuff he writes, almost as if he’s come up with a great idea but is never too sure how to end it.

I always thought Stephen King must be a great author having watched the great films of Carrie, Misery and The Shining. I then bought his book Under the Dome at the airport when I was going on holiday a few years back and to this day think it is the worst thing I've ever read. Saw the trailer for IT 2 at the cinema last week...looked not my thing.

I find his books are either great, or terrible.

Of those I've read, I loved IT, 11/22/63, Misery and Pet Semetary. I also recommend his short story collections, some of his best work are shorts. The most horrifying SK thing I've read was a short called Survivor Type.

I thought The Stand, The Shining and the Dead Zone were rubbish.

Tickets booked for a week on Friday, 7pm. Looking forward to it.

I did think Chapter 1 was actually funnier than the original and think Tim Curry plays a better Pennywise than Bill Skarsgard, however I still enjoyed it two years ago so expect Chapter 2 to still be very good.

Well I went to watch it last night. If you haven't seen Chapter 1 they cleverly include bits of what happened to them when they were kids so you can tell what happened to make them come back. I thought it was decent but like Chapter 1, just not as good as the original for me - it was actually more funny than anything, although there were a few moments where you don't expect what's going to happen, and even if you have some sort of idea, it still gets you.

They clearly made more of the special effects that we now have compared to the 90s, but felt they dragged it out (2 hours 50 minutes!) for too long. A shorter 2 hour duration would have been much better.

Still, if you saw the original, it's worth a watch. Tim Curry was the better Pennywise though, for me.

I also watched it last night, but not with Frank

I enjoyed it, some brutal scenes at the beginning and of course the usual parts that make you jump.

Some funny bits in there but it's not what you'd call an overly scary film.

Yes, the starting scene was pretty gruesome.

The first one wasn't scary either, more exciting.

I'll watch it when I can download it, not the standard of film I'd pay money to see.
