Let's get all the "Won't be Dyche fit", "wouldn't get on until the 89th minute" etc jokes out the way.
Would absolutely love to see Messi in the EPL.

He's never been the one to try new challenges, otherwise he'd have played in the Prem long before now. So I'd bet he won't come to the Premier League and either retire or China for a decent pay.
Not bad though for the best player on the planet over the last 15 years.

Only one club he would come to and that would be Man City. If he did it would guarantee them the title. Zola was classed as past it when he arrived on these shores. Bergkamp a spent force. These types of players flourish in the Prem regardless of age
Although whether he would get in before Foden....who is the best player at that age he has ever seen (including Messi) remains a mustery ha ha

What a load of nonsense this ‘wouldn’t try it in his peak’ or ‘was scared of trying the premier league or something different’
He’s playing for the biggest club of the last 10 - 15 years. And one of biggest ever. He’s been their most influential and best player ever. The fans love him. He grew up there. It’s an incredible city with great weather. He plays in front of 100,000 fans who worship him. And he’s won everything domestically.
Why on earth would he even want to leave that behind?
Especially to come and live and play in bloody Manchester. Other than money.
Great player. Yet all people want to do is knock him (and Ronaldo).

100% this...you dont leave clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid by choice....you leave because they dont want you anymore

Bergkamp was 26 when he signed for Arsenal. His two seasons at inter were -rightly- regarded as underwhelming or a failure.

Zlatan wasn’t a youngster when he came to play in the Prem and there were plenty of critics who said he wouldn’t cope. Proved them all wrong and Messi would do the same. Said he wants to play for Burnley and will play for the same money as the captain of the club.

He has said he would like to return to Argentina & play for Newells Old Boys when he leaves Barca.I have had the good fortune to see him play live 4 times including a 5 goal demolition in a 7 - 1 hammering of Bayer Leverkusen. On his day & he has very few off days he is simply unplayable & capable of winning any game single handedly. The best player on the planet in my lifetime by a mile & humble with it too.

Some really mardy comments on here. If you have seen a better player on this planet then they must have been in your dreams. Why can't you just acknowledge a real and natural talent for what he is?

Bit like Schumacher driving a Ferrari in the early-mid 00's...
I could look like a natural talent in (either of) their environment!

Erm.....
Zola was just about 30 when he rocked up at Chelsea, Bergkamp just a few couple of years younger.
Neither was declared as past it or a spent force when they arrived.

I would love to see him sign for a PL club just so I could see the greatest player ever walk out onto the pitch and play at Turf Moor. That would be a day to remember. Lionel Messi in Burnley playing at my Turf Moor.

His current contract with FC Barcelona reportedly pays him $645,000 a week, or $33 million a year.
Along with sponsorships and endorsements etc he makes over $110 million a year.
Some top, top players want to play for Real Madrid, the others want to play for Barcelona.

Yeah but when he wants to see a World Cup on a shelf with two European Championships he has to pop round Fernando Torres' house

Best player I have ever seen (not in the flesh mind). Would love him to play in the premier league. The only team who could afford him/suit his style is Man City. Plus you have the Pep connections.

The premier league is well over rated. Entertaining, maybe. Technical, not at all.
Messi has played with a club he loves, which happens to be one of the best 2 teams in the world, lived in a city he loves, been paid enough money, so why would he leave?
A lot of Posters on here are just thick as F
I suppose you only have to walk around Burnley / Bacup etc just to realise the magnitude of thickness/roughness/inbredness that's in the area. So actually thinking about it posts on here actually don't really wind me up nowadays. I just remember the type of people that have posted them and have a little smile.

The reason Ronsldo is better than him, is Ronaldo has done it in various leagues at a few clubs.
Messi stayed where it was easier, and cant say he has truly tested himself.
And i fully understand why people could argue he maybe not have been able to do it elsewhere like the premier league.
We will never know regards Messi, but Ronaldo can say that.

If I was coming to England to play in the prem, I would choose Burnley, where the fans would make a song up for me and remember me as a legend, when I leave, even though I might get injured a lot.

Went to watch Barca v United at the Nou Camp last April. Never seen Messi play before, he was awesome. Messi is the best footballer I have ever seen in my life, the ball stuck to his feet.
I have seen Best,Marsh and Moore play teens of times in the past but Messi is on a different planet
