Saw a comment on an earlier thread about members of this board based in Warrington. Got me thinking, how many are there? I'm currently living in Kingswood but Burnley born and bred. Are there any others?

I live in Great Sankey, spend much of my time in Culcheth, , but born and grew up in Rawtenstall, and supported the Clarets most of my life.

Well that's a five a side outfit so far in claret & blue. Somewhat comforting to know we are not alone amongst all these half baked plastic Mancs/Scousers.Perhaps we could organise a get together for televised away games ?

I’m up for that we could do with a bit of visibility in mancerpool land.

That's very weird - often wondered why she,s usually tied up on the 1st & 3rd weekend !! & only welcomes me on the 2nd & 4th and never during the week !!. Going off her anyway - time to look for someone closer to home, but happy to share with fellow Clarets for the time being :D

Ah right, I only ask as my Partners parents live on Farmleigh and their neighbours are Burnley fans and go to every game!

Often been to Chappleford Farm for a carvery!

I live south of the railway line about as far south as framleigh is north. Perhaps your partners parents neighbours can be encouraged to wear the shirt when venturing out to Chapelford farm or Sainsbury’s giving me an opportunity to spot them and possibly making Claret contact.

I've had a few strange looks around there, usually from people trying to work out which team my black away shirt from last season belongs to!

I used to live there just south of Sainsbury’s but don’t anymore. I have two cousins in the Kingswood area who are clarets.

Maybe the only town in the country who’s primary taxi firm is named after a Genesis album.

I’d be up for a Sunday meet - up or a Monday night but Saturday away games would have to be a 5-30. Busy till about 3 or 3.30 on an away Saturday.

I've got a Warrington post code....WA16. South-ish down the A49.
Which I believe means I'm about 16 miles from the main post office in Warrington.....that's what the numbers after the initial two letters approximately indicate.....isn't it?
We've moved down here from Lancashire in January, we occasionally visit Warrington....we've been hammering Ikea and Dunhelm Mill recently.....Warrington really is retail-Vill, it's location between Liverpool and Manchester makes it a strategic location for retailers I guess.

They aren't the ones that had the England Flag with Burnley FC on it are they? Saw that last year! I'm on Kingswood, go to 7 woods for a beer occasionally!

No. Or the postcodes would be concentric rings.

Technically it was the case when the 1874 postal reforms were put into place.

As areas grew it become impossible to use the radius method and the 1970s postcode system completely replaced that old method of concentric measurement.

Thanks. Interesting but I don't think it ever had postcodes in concentric areas. The first area it applied to was a ring but the areas within that weren't numbered or related to mileage. That was what was intriguing me; I wondered was logistics really such a new skill that someone could have come up with something as bad as concentric ring areas in 1800-something. But I don't think they did.

When I hear the sh1t people chat on nights out, this seems quite alright to me.

7 woods is a decent boozer. There's a sports bar in Town called Austin's that's perfect for the footy. Been to watch the Clarets there before.
