For any general information that could assist for supporters going to the game at Leicester - but not for ticketing or coach travel issues which are covered on other threads.

Info from Leicester City

If you could circulate this to your supporter coaches for next weekend that would be great. In short, there is another planned walk in memory of the chairman who passed away last year and this fixture has been picked as the anniversary (coincidence that it is Burnley again!!). As such, there is likely to be thousands of people getting to the stadium at the same time, although it is not expected to be as big as last years, it’s still possible it may cause some disruption for vehicles & coaches arriving at the stadium.

It’s their last home game before the anniversary. I knew they were planning something but didn’t know what exactly. I think there might be something inside the stadium before the game.

Any decent pubs near the train station that will have some clarets in it.

Probably the best bet for away fans is the Counting House pub on Freemens Common Road. It has a good mix of both sets of supporters, with all the normal facilities on offer. The pub is located just off the Aylestone Road, behind the Local Hero pub (home fans only) and next to Morrisons Supermarket. Away fans are welcomed at the Huntsman pub on Narborough Road (next to Iceland supermarket) about a 15 minute walk away from the King Power Stadium. It shows BT televised sports and offers car parking at a cost of £5. Also in the same area as the Huntsman is the Westcotes Constitutional Club on Wilberforce Road, which allows in visiting supporters at no cost and is family-friendly.

If arriving by train, as you come out of the main entrance turn left and cross to the other side and there you will find 'The Hind' which is rather a basic pub, but does have real ales. A better bet may be the Wetherspoons pub called the 'Last Plantagenet'. If you turn right out of the station and cross the road and turn left into Granby Street, then this pub is down on the left. Also in the city centre which is around a 15-20 minute walk away from the King Power Stadium is the Kings Head on King Street.

Most of the pubs near to the stadium, are for home fans only. In particular 'The F Bar' should be avoided by visiting supporters. Plus the 'Symphony Rooms' located just over the road from the away end, is another home fans bar.

If driving is it best to go down M6 or M1. I know the M6 route is shorter but are there any roadworks to be aware of?

The Parcel Yard pub next to the station is a decent pub which normally has a mix of fans.

Our coaches will be going M6, A500, A50 and M1. Leaving the M1 at Junc 21. Not aware of any planned roadworks on the route.

Going via m1 because m6 has restrictions of 50mph for a good distance both ways and come off at junc 21

If you check on AA Route Planner think you'll find that even with 50mph sections the M6 route is still the quickest.

I think this info is a bit out of date. I'm sure when we went to Leicester last season the Huntsman pub had closed down and is now a restaraunt.

The Hind pub was full of Clarets but they didnt have any football on tv.

^ This one closed (permanently) in Sept.

For me personally (living & working in the area) the best 2 pubs in Leicester are both on Millstone Lane, just a couple of doors from each other (Google Maps suggests only 20 minute walk to King Power, 1 mile):

Note that Head Of Steam on Market Street & Broood on the end of New Walk at King Street have both permanently closed since our 2018 visit to LCFC.

I drove into Leicester yesterday and there are major road works in the Western Boulevard /Eastern Boulevard area which border the River Soar near to the King Power. It would be better to park in the city centre and walk to the Stadium. If you drive in from the west on the A47 (King Richards Road) where it becomes St Augustine Road there is an all day car park on your left. It is a couple of hundred yards before you reach St Nicholas Circle and the last time I used it it was £3. There is also a car park in St Nicholas Circle but that is smaller and more expensive.

Many local business units open up for parking on match days (at a cost of course, which vary) - Freemans Common Business Park (LE2 7SQ) is probably the closest, 5 to 10 mins walk from the ground.

There's some street parking by Victoria Park, postcode for SatNav is: LE2 1WA

Will be busy, but probably find a space in one of the roads around there. About 15 mins and an easy walk to the ground. Can stop at the New Road Inn nearby for a beer. Not the best pub in the world, but they have the football on and you can get a beer without being hassled, even in colours.

Decent run down Welford Road on way back to Fosse Park and then the motorway (M1) after the game as well.

You might be able to buy a ticket at the ground on the day. I'd ring the ticket office.

I guess the sombre atmosphere may well, thankfully, put paid to any nonsense regarding Vardy's missus and her stupidity.
The helicopter crash anniversary reminded me of the Derby fans' distasteful response to the Foxes' "Champions of England, you'll never sing that. which was "Our helicopter's fly, you'll never sing that...."
Shades of some of the Clarets' knuckle-dragger's "Jack Walker". I hope today passes off well - no doubt, "Match of the Day" will make a meal of it either way.

Plenty of Clarets in the Counting House. About 15 - 20 mins walk from the station. Just past the Rugby Stadium on your right then next right, Almond Road and pub is on your left.
